It's time to introduce the first major of the year, the 2019 Match Play Championship!  Due to late start with invites we have an aggresive timeline for registration etc.  Deadline for registration will be March 16th, the draw (brackets) shortly after and the Calcutta on March 23rd with the first round beginning March 30th.

 

The event is a 64-man match play event, which will start with the draw on or after March 16th.  Each round much be completed in 3 weeks (first 2 rounds) or 2 weeks (final 4 rounds).  To be eligible to play in the event, players must be members in good standing (dues have been paid for 2019) and must have played in at least 5 events in 2018 and 2019 combined (by February March 16th).

 

The first 64 players who are eligible that register will be entered in the tournament.  Any players who register after the field is filled will be put on the wait list, to fill spots which open before the tournament begins.

 

The entry fee for the event is $25, $24 of which goes to the prize fund, and $1 of which goes to the club.  Also, players playing in a match will give their weekly $1 to the club (as we typically do).  Instead of the usual $20 that is paid weekly for the flight and skins game, the player will owe only $1 to play their match.

 

 

There are 6 scheduled rounds of play.  The dates are:

 

1st Round (March 30, April 6, April 13)

2nd Round (April 20, April 27, May 4)

3rd Round (May 11, May 18)

4th Round (May 25, June 1)

5th Round (June 8, June 15)

6th Round (June 22, June 29)

 

This is typically a great event!  Invite wil be sent out in a day or two.
