REFUND POLICY: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor’s statement) reaches LGA office by June 4, 2019. A $20 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any junior who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) and is a member of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour. Entrants must be 11 years of age by midnight, June 5, 2019, and cannot have reached their 19th birthday by midnight, June 6, 2019. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.
Field/Format of Play: Limited to the first 78 entries. Participants must choose to enter the appropriate divsion (Overall Boy's (13-18), Boy's (11-13) or Overall Girls' (13-18)) The Overall Boy's division will compete from approximately 6,600 yards. The Overall Girls' and Boy's (11-13) will compete from a forward tee approximately 5,700 yards. Participants must declare his/her participation in the division which they intend to compete during registration.
Dress Code, Cell Phones: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Use of cell phones, including those used as Electronic Measuring Devices, is prohibited on the course during the competition (The Committee reserves the right to disqualify a competitor for a breach of the policy regarding cell phone usage; See USGA Rules of Golf Decision 33-7/8). Important Note: Oakbourne CC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Tournament at Oakbourne on June 4, 2019.
Prizes: Crystal prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division. The top finisher in the 15-under flight will receive a crystal prize.
WAGR: As part of their expanding relationship to govern the game globally, the USGA partners with the R&A in compiling and publishing the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). This LGA Championship is a WAGR counting event, and the results will be sent to the R&A in St Andrews, Scotland. A primary purpose of the WAGR is to provide exemptions into USGA and R&A amateur championships for top ranked amateur golfers. The rankings are updated every Wednesday at 12:00 noon, Greenwich Mean Time. Additional information about the WAGR and the current rankings may be found at www.wagr.com.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. Caddies: Competitors will not be permitted to use caddies. All participants will carry their own clubs. Pull carts will be permitted. Max Score: The Boys 11-13 Division will play a Maximum Score of 10 for all competitive rounds.
