28th New England Senior Amateur Championship

The Ledges Golf Club | York, ME | September 16 - 17, 2025

Entries Close: Thursday July 31st @ 5:00PM EST


Eligibility: Entries are open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 55th birthday by September 16, 2025, hold membership in a club belonging to one of the six New England State Golf Associations and have an up-to-date USGA/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 12.0.


Entry Procedures: Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the NEGA Online Entry process by 5:00 pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Lodging: The host hotel for the Championship will be announced prior to the close of entries. 

 

Format: Competition will be in two (2) stages at Stroke Play:
1. Sectional Qualifying (18 holes)
2. Championship Proper (36 holes)


Field: The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players.

 

Practice Rounds: Practice Rounds (availability, cost, restrictions, etc.) are at the discretion of the host facility. Players will be provided with any details regarding practice rounds no later than the entry close date. 


2025 Exemptions: Upon receipt of the online registration and fee, the players listed on the exemption page are exempt from Sectional Qualifying. Click HERE to view the exemption list.


Schedule - Championship Proper:
Round 1 - September 16 (18 Holes)
Round 2 - September 17 (18 Holes)
The lowest scorer for 36 holes will be Champion. There will be winners in the Senior and Super Senior Divisions. 
If a tie for first place occurs, play will immediately continue hole-by-hole until a winner is determined. If ties for other positions occur, duplicate merchandise certificates will be awarded.


Caddies & Automotive Transportation: Cart fee is included in entry fee. Pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) and caddies are permitted.


Food/Beverage: A complimentary lunch will be available on the first day of the championship proper.


Starting Times: Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries. Championship Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifying round.


Prizes: The Andrew C. Bailey Senior Amateur Trophy will be presented to the Champion along with a gold medal. The Super Senior Division Champion will also receive a gold medal and The Super Senior Trophy. Merchandise certificates, in each division, will be awarded. Merchandise Certificates are only redeemable at the host club.


Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation: The NEGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.


Restrictions: If the Championship course is declared unplayable and as a result it is not possible to complete the 36 holes of play in the period in which the Championship is scheduled, the Championship will not be extended beyond the last scheduled day and the winner shall be the individual who returns the lowest score for the number of stipulated rounds played. The Committee may institute a cut in order to play the last stipulated round. 

 

Withdrawal/Refund Policy: Competitors who have submitted an entry for an NEGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason must notify the NEGA via e-mail or phone. Refunds for qualifiers and/or Championships are based on the refund policy and timeline listed below. 

 

7+ Days prior to the qualifier/event - Full refund less $20 Admin Fee

2-6 Days prior to the qualifier/event - 50% refund

0-1 Days prior to the qualifier/event - No refund

 

* For WD/Refunds received after a qualifier but prior to the Championship Proper, refunds apply (following the guidelines above) only to the "Second Half" payment for players that successfully qualified.
