HARRY YOUNG RULES of COMPETITION
Rules of Competition, Tee Times and Results Reporting
The Harry Young Interclub competition is structured for middle to higher handicap players who wish to have the opportunity to hone their competitive skills in a friendly team oriented environment. Team members should be golfers not usually involved in other competitive inter-club competitions. Each club's team is comprised of six golfers and each team's lowest handicappers play against one another, followed by the second lowest and so on. The highest handicap players on each team should normally be teeing off last. Each group will play a fourball match play contest. 1 point for a win, 1/2 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. Total points available weekly would be 3.
The local rules of the host club shall be in effect for each match. If any matches are incomplete or unfinished due to darkness, lightning, or other abnormal conditions where the golf course is unplayable then matches that have completed at least 13 holes will be considered complete at the last hole played before the stoppage. Whatever the status of the matches are at that time will be considered the final match result for the group. If less than 13 holes are completed before the stoppage then the match is to be rescheduled. A proposed schedule will be issued early in the year. It will be up to the club/team captains to ensure the schedule works for their course. If there is a “week” where your course is not available due to something other than your course having just been punched, contact your scheduled opponent and see if the hosting course can be switched. If there is no resolution, contact the Zone Coordinator. Tee times must be strictly adhered to. Should a player be late, the late player may join his group on the next hole after he arrives. Any team which has a player playing off the "wrong handicap" will default all points for that weeks contest e.g. 3-0. The team's Captain must ensure all his team members are using their correct handicaps. This rule will be strictly enforced. All players will play at 75% of their handicap.
