General Information:
The Rules of Golf as adopted by the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the USGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.

 

Format & Qualifying Positions:
18 holes of stroke play qualifying. The low five (5) players will advance to the 2018 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club in Vero Beach, Florida on October 6-11. There will also be two (2) alternate positions available.  

 

Should you qualify, you must accept your position and pick up the proper credentials prior to leaving the qualifying site. Any ties for the last qualifying position or alternate positions will be determined by a sudden-death playoff beginning immediately after the conclusion of play.

 

Schedule of Events:
Wednesday, September 12, 2018 – Sectional Qualifying (18 Holes)

 

Grouping & Starting Times:
Starting times will begin from the 1st tee at 8:00am. 

 

Practice Round:
A complimentary practice round is available on weekdays after 12pm and on weekends after 2pm.  To schedule a practice round please contact a member of the Silvermine Golf Club professional staff at (203) 846-2552.

 

Registration:
Players must check in at the player registration table upon their arrival.

 

Practice Range:
The practice range will be available for your use beginning at 7:00am. Range balls are courtesy of Silvermine Golf Club.

 

Food & Beverage:
The Silvermine dining area will be open normal hours with their normal menu. Players area responsible for any food and beverage purchases.  Silvermine Golf Club accepts cash, credit or club charge in the dining area

 

Caddies & Transportation:
Players may walk and carry their own clubs, use a push cart, employ the services of a caddie, or use a golf cart during this qualifying round.  The $27 cost of a cart is not included in your entry fee and must be paid in the golf shop prior to your round with cash or club charge only. 

 

NOTE:  The USGA has implemented the “One Seat” policy for this championship and its qualifying rounds therefore a player and a players caddie are not permitted to ride together in a cart at any point during the stipulated round.  For more information please visit the USGA Cart Policy Page.

 

Course Setup:
Silvermine Golf Club will play to a par 70 at approximately 5,250 yards with a time par of 4 hours and 25 minutes.

 

Footwear:
Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.

 

Distance Measuring Devices:
In Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.) the player is breach of Rule 14-3.

 

Driver Heads & Golf Balls:
The optional conditions as prescribed in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf are in effect.

 

Limitation on Golf Balls:
The “One-Ball Rule” will be in effect.  See Appendix I of the Rules of Golf for more information.

 

“Groove & Punch Mark Specifications” Condition:
In Sectional Qualifying as well as in the Championship proper, the player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  The full Condition of Competition is available for review on the entry application.
 
Withdrawals:
You must contact the USGA Championship Department at (908) 234-2300 or the CSGA at (860) 257-4171 if you must withdraw from this qualifier.  A competitor who fails to notify either the USGA or CSGA of her withdrawal may be subject to disciplinary actions by the USGA.  If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 11th, you can send your withdrawal via email to Ryan Hoffman at rhoffman@csgalinks.org.
