2025 OFMGA Event Descriptions
Superintendent’s Revenge
A 2 Man Scramble where you can bring your own OFMGA Partner or a Non OFMGA Guest. A fun event with unique challenges set up by the Golf Course Superintendent. Regular Division and Senior Division utilized. Flighted after play based on scores.
2 Man Cha-Cha-Cha
A 2 man event where you bring your own OFMGA Partner. Play 3 different formats during the 18 holes. Holes 1-6 Scramble, Holes 7-12 Select Drive One Low Ball, and Holes 13-18 being modified alternate shot. Flighted after play based on scores from that day.
ABCD Money Ball
A computer paired 4 person event. Teams are selected based on handicap in an ABCD format. In this game, you select the best drive and then play your own ball from there. 2 low ball scores count on each hole, plus the predetermined “Money Ball” where a certain players score must count on that hole. The combination of all 3 scores count for the team score.
2 Man Select Drive—1 Low Ball
A 2 man event where you can bring your own OFMGA Partner. Both players tee off, you select the best drive, and then both players play their own ball from that spot counting the best score of the two on each hole. Regular Division and Senior Division utilized. Flighted before play based on combined team handicaps.
Match Play Tournament
An individual match play event. Single elimination. You have two weeks to complete each match on your own schedule. You and your competitor will be responsible for scheduling your match. Each player receives 80% of your course handicap for all divisions except scratch division. Divisions are based on age with the exception of the scratch division.
Carson Cup Qualifier
An 18 hole individual stroke play event. Pre flighted based on handicaps for those under age 54 or by age for those 55 and over. The top players in each division will qualify to compete in our annual Carson Cup event.
2 Man Modified Alternate Shot
A 2 man event where you bring your own OFMGA Partner. Each hole starts with each player teeing off. Select the best drive, and the players shot who was not selected will hit the 2nd shot. You will keep alternating shots until the hole is completed. Regular Division and Senior Division utilized. Pre flighted based on combined handicaps.
OFMGA Club Championship
A 2 day stroke play event. Pre flighted based on handicaps for those under age 54 or by age for those 55 and over. Net and Gross winners awarded for each division.
2 Man Front/Back Member Guest
Our OFMGA Member Guest event. Bring a non OFMGA Member for this event. Front 9—Select Drive 1 Low Ball, Back 9—Scramble. Regular Division and Senior Division utilized. Flighted After Play based on scores.
Carson Cup Matches
A 2 day, Ryder Cup style team event. 24 players will be on each team comprised of individuals who qualified during the qualifier event. 27 holes will be played each day in a variety of Ryder Cup style formats to determine a winning team. No monetary prizes awarded, but each member receives a team uniform, along with several tee gifts.
OFMGA Points Championship
Our year long points race for the player of the year concludes in this individual stroke play quota event. Event will be pre-flighted based Player of he Year Points Standings, but your quota is determined by your playing handicap from the tees you play based on your age.
18 HOLE PAR 3 CHALLENGE—3 Man Scramble
Bring 2 OFMGA partners or sign up individually for this unique course setup with all 18 holes playing as par 3’s. Flighted after play based on that days scores.
Year End Banquet
Join us for our year end OFMGA celebration. We will enjoy a great meal together, recognizes 2025 champions, cover 2026 schedules, and give away plenty of door prizes.
