54 HOLE STROKEPLAY TOURNAMENT
2025 TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WHO MAY PLAY:
The event is open to all men and women golfers who are aged 50 years and over on the 19th February 2025. The field is limited to 120 players.
TOURNAMENT DATES :
The Tournament will be played from Wednesday 19th February to Friday 21st February, 2025.
Tee times [with a three tee start] commence at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday 19th, at 7:45am on Thursday 20th, and at 7:45am on Friday 21st.
FORMAT :
The format is Strokeplay with competitions for both gross and nett scores. The tournament does NOT include a Stableford competition.
PLAYING GROUPS :
Men and Ladies play separately in groups of four players (or a group of three players, if necessary). There are NO mixed gender groups. There is a random Draw for the first two Rounds and a seeded Draw for the third Round.
ENTRIES:
Entries will be accepted in the order of their confirmation. The confirmation date is deemed to be the date that the entry [with fee payment] is received by Mt Maunganui Golf Club through the Golf Genius App.
ENTRY FEE :
The entry fee must be paid through the Golf Genius App using either a credit or debit card as part of your registration.
Unless there are exceptional circumstances, refunds of the fee will NOT be considered after the closing date for entries (7 February, 2025).
PRACTICE ROUNDS :
There are no practice rounds included in the tournament entry fee.
Practice facilities are also currently very limited due to course redevelopment.
MEASURING DEVICES :
Devices which measure ONLY distance may be used. Any devices which measure other factors (such as wind speed, gradient, etc.) that might affect the player's decisions re club selection, etc., are not permitted (Rule 14-3)
GOLF CARTS :
Petrol driven motorcycles, scooters, golf carts are NOT permitted on the course at any time.
Visiting players, may use their own electric golf carts subject to a usage charge of $5 per round. This fee is payable at the Club office prior to the 1st Round of the tournament. Electric carts may be hired from the Pro Shop.
MOTOR HOMES AND CARAVANS :
There is very limited parking space for motor homes and/or caravans on the Club's premises, BUT, there is no facility to connect electricity to these vehicles. Clubhouse toilets and showers are available, during Club opening hours, at a cost of $15 per day. This charge is payable at the Club office on arrival.
HANDICAPS :
All handicap indexes will be verified from the NZGA Slope Handicap system and Course Handicaps will be calculated accordingly. Overseas entrants who do not have (or will not have) a New Zealand Golf Association handicap prior to the start of the Tournament must provide proof of their handicap index by 17 February, 2025.
TOURNAMENT DIVISIONS :
Each player will be assigned to a Division, based on his/her handicap at 5:00pm on 14 February 2025 and will remain in that Division for the whole tournament irrespective of any subsequent handicap change.
REPORTING TIMES :
Players are required to report to the Starter, each day, no later than 30 minutes prior to their allocated tee time. Players must be at their tee no later than 10 minutes before their allocated tee time.
INFORMATION PACK :
All players should collect their tournament information pack from the Starter prior to tee off on Wednesday 19 February 2025.
RULES OF GOLF :
The Rules are those of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, except as varied by Local Rules. These will be available at registration and also shown on the Score Cards.
SCORE CARDS :
Score cards must be signed by both player and marker and returned to the Tournament Committee, in the Club lounge, immediately after the completion of each Round.
TIES :
In the event of tied scores, the rankings will be decided electronically, on countback, by the NZ Dot Golf computer system.
PRIZE GIVING :
Presentation of daily golf and raffle prizes will take place on the completion of play on each day of the tournament.
UNCLAIMED PRIZES :
Any prizes that are not claimed by the prize winner, or his/her nominee, by 4:00pm on 21 February, 2025 will be forfeited.
DISPUTES :
Any unresolved disputes must be lodged with the Tournament Committee within 30 minutes of the completion of the Round.
TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE :
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter the tournament format, dates, and starting times at its sole discretion.
The decision of the Tournament Committee on any aspect of the Tournament will be final.
