The Valentine Invitational celebrates the rich golf history, culture and facilities of Hermitage Country Club by providing a premier tournament experience that supports the region's elite Mid-Amateur and Senior golf communities. We cannot wait to welcome a high-quality, nationwide field to Hermitage for the 83rd playing of the Valentine. The Valentine is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) points event.

Last year, Christian Brand (Hurricane, WV) continued his red-hot summer by posting a 54-hole total of 198 (-18) to win the 82nd Valentine Invitational. Brand’s margin of victory was just one, as 2023 champion and Hermitage member Sam Beach (Midlothian, VA) finished a shot back at 199 (-17). Beach made only one bogey in his title defense. Matt Vogt (Indianapolis, IN) made a strong statement in his Valentine debut, finishing third at 207 (-9). Trey Wren (native of Virginia Beach, VA) finished at 208 (-8) to secure fourth place. 2008 Valentine Champion Adam Horton (Chesapeake, VA) and Cam Roam (Huntington, WV) shared fifth at 209 (-7).

Scott Shingler (Haymarket, VA) secured his first Senior division title, shooting 210 (-6) to win by 2 shots over 2x Senior division champion Jon Hurst (Fredericksburg, VA). With Shingler's victory in the Senior division, he became the third player in tournament history to win both divisions of the Valentine Invitational (David Partridge and Robert Nussey, Jr). Partridge finished 3rd in the Senior division for the second year in a row (-3), and Steve Serrao (2024 VSGA Senior Player of the Year and 2023 Senior Valentine champion) finished 4th.
