- ENTRIES
- The Championship will be open to players of the female gender who:
- Are members of a golf club affiliated to a National Golf Association, authorised to adopt, manage and maintain the World Handicap SystemTM within their jurisdiction, and
- Have Amateur Status in accordance with the current Rules of Amateur Status as published by the R&A Rules Limited and the USGA, and who holds a Handicap Index® for the Championship of 6.5 and under. The Abe Bailey Cup of 6.6 to 15.3 at date of entry as issued by a Handicap Authority. In the absence of a Handicap Index®, a current equivalent exact handicap, as issued by a recognised Handicap Authority, of not more than 15.3 at the date of entry will be accepted.
- A player’s Handicap Index®, as at the closing date of entries, will be used to finalise in which championship a player will compete. The player’s Tournament Course Handicap, at the closing date of entries, will be used to determine net results.
- Entrants holding a Handicap Index® and a handicap issued by a recognised Handicap Authority must enter the Championship using their Handicap Index®. The penalty for failure to enter the Championship in compliance with this section 2(b) is disqualification.
- Entrants must be of the female gender and have been female at birth or have had the female sex assigned. For the avoidance of doubt, GolfRSA reserves the right to carry out a confidential case-by-case evaluation of whether the competitor’s participation is likely to lead to unfair competition at any time either prior to or after the Championship if, in its reasonable opinion, such an evaluation is or becomes necessary. The Committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor not meeting the requirements for entry to the Championship.
- GolfRSA reserves the right to refuse any entry or, having accepted, subsequently reject any entry where, in its reasonable opinion, there is evidence to suggest that a player’s Handicap Index® or equivalent does not reflect their demonstrated ability or if the player has score abnormalities, such as more than two (2) penalty scores or incorrectly captured scores, on Handicap Network Africa (HNA). Please note that GolfRSA may contact your previous home club, Authorised Association, Federation or Provincial Union to request a full handicap record.
- One entry per player must be submitted electronically via www.golfrsa.com and received by 08h00 on the closing date for entries. Entries by telephone will not be accepted. The entrant is responsible for ensuring that their online entry is completed successfully and that all contact details are accurate. Late entries will not be accepted. Entry fees will be refunded if notice of withdrawal and payment has been received before the close of entries. After the close of entries, entry fees will only be refunded in full to entrants who did not gain a place in the Championship. Any refund of entry fees will be processed within 28 days of the final day of the Championship. If an entrant withdraws before or after the close of entries, their withdrawal is final, and re-entry will not be permitted.
- The exact handicap/Handicap Index® certified at the entry date will be used for all purposes.
- All entries are subject to the approval of the Committee, which reserves the right to disqualify any person making a false statement in their online entry and/or to accept or refuse or, having accepted, subsequently reject any entry without giving reasons for its decision.
- All players must compete in the Championship in its entirety. Failure to do so may result in future entries being refused. A player who fails to comply with this regulation will not be eligible for a prize in the 54-hole South African Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship, as the Stroke Play counts for the seeding positions of the South African Women’s Amateur Match Play Championship. A player disqualified from any stroke play round is entirely disqualified from the Championship.
- All competitors are subject to the provisions of the International Golf Federation’s Anti-Doping Policy. Details of the Policy and the List of Prohibited Substances and Methods are available from the IGF’s website (www.igfgolf.org). Entrants who are taking medication and are in doubt as to their clinical status should seek advice from GolfRSA or the IGF, knowing that, should a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) be required, this must be submitted to GolfRSA or IGF not later than 30 days before the start of the Championship.
