History
In 1946 34 acres was brought from T.J.B Stewart for 5,100 pounds to lengthen the existing course.
Mr Stewart presented the gold cup worth 100 guineas to the club in April 1949. He persuaded the club to institute an annual open 72-hole competition, an event which was not at the time being conducted in Auckland. The tournament was first held in 1950 and now holds a major place in Auckland Tournaments.
