Irish Post-Primary Schools Championships, 2024-2025

  1. Structure of Competition
  1. The Championships are contested in two stages:
    1. Qualifying rounds which will take place in each Region in September or October at the start of each academic year
    2. The Championship Final, which takes place in April each year, at the conclusion of the academic year
  2. 4 categories of entrants:
  1. Senior Girls (Under-19 in the year of the Championship final; maximum H.I. of 39.9)
  2. Senior Boys (Under-19 in the year of the Championship final; maximum H.I. of 19.9)
  3. Junior Girls (Under-16 in the year of the Championship final; maximum H.I. of 39.9)
  4. Junior Boys (Under-16 in the year of the Championship final; maximum H.I. of 28.0)

 

  1. Qualifying Round
  1. Qualifying rounds in each category will take place in each region.
  2. The top two players in each category in each qualifying round will qualify for the national final - in addition to which a number of places will be added on a pro-rata basis of entries at the conclusion of all qualifying rounds. 
  3. In the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior Championship Qualifying Rounds, qualification for the All-Ireland Finals will be determined on the basis of the best net stableford score(s).
  4. In the Boys’ and Girls’ Senior Championship Qualifying Rounds, qualification will be determined on the basis of the best gross stableford score(s). There will, however, be a net prize for the best net score on the day of the Qualifying Round.  
  5. Prizes in the Qualifying Round will be awarded for the best individual score in each category.
