LOCAL RULES
- U.S.G.A. RULES OF GOLF govern all play.
- PACE OF PLAY – A round of golf is meant to be played at a prompt pace. Each player should recognize that his or her pace of play is likely to affect how long it will take other players to play their rounds. A player should make their stroke in no more than 40 seconds after he or she is able to play without interference or distraction. 9-holes of golf should be played in no more than two hours.
- OUT OF BOUNDS is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes and fence posts. When both stakes and lines are used to define out of bounds, stakes identify the out of bounds and lines define the margins. When two out of bounds stakes coincide, out of bounds is deemed to extend indefinitely. Proceed under Rule 18.2b.
- PENALTY AREAS are defined by red stakes or red lines or by yellow stakes or yellow lines. When both stakes and lines are used to define penalty areas, stakes identify penalty areas and lines define margins. When a penalty area is defined on only one side, it is deemed to extend indefinitely. When penalty areas are bounded by out of bounds, the penalty area margin extends to and coincides with the out of bounds line. Proceed under Rule 17.1.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR is defined by white lines. Relief without penalty may be taken as provided in Rule 16.1. White-lined areas of ground under repair and artificially surfaced roads and paths they tie into are treated as a single abnormal course condition when taking relief under Rule 16.1.
- TREE ROOTS – If a player’s ball is at rest in a portion of the general area cut to fairway height or less and there is interference from exposed tree roots that are in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the tree roots are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.
- OBSTRUCTIONS – All artificially surfaced roads & paths, such as asphalt, concrete, or gravel roads and paths (including worn areas around such roads and paths that are a result of car usage) are immovable obstructions. All flood pumps (usually located on the sides of drainage dikes), culverts, and french drains are immovable obstructions. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1.
- FLOWER BEDS AND LANDSCAPING - The flower bed next to #1 tee at Moccasin Creek and landscaping around the clubhouses are no play zones that are to be treated as abnormal course condition. Free relief MUST be taken from interference by the no play zone under Rule 16.1f.
- YARDAGE MARKERS are located on sprinkler heads and disks located in the middle of the fairways. All yardages are measured to the middle of the greens. Red disks - 100 yards; White sticks - 150 yards. Yardage disks and sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1.
