1. BATHURST REGIONAL QUALIFIER

1.1 Tournament Location

Bathurst Golf Club

136 Vittoria St, Bathurst NSW 2795

1.2 Tournament Dates

Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 December 2024

1.3 Prizemoney

A$ 50,000 - Prizemoney will be distributed in accordance with the WPGA prizemoney ratio’s policy

 

2. TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES

2.1 Championship Format

The Bathurst Regional Qualifier will be contested over 36 holes of stroke play, 18 holes on each day of the prescribed Tournament dates listed above.

2.2 Cut

There will be no cut in this 36 hole event, after 18 holes a seeded draw will take place.

2.3 Ties

In the event of a tie or ties after 36 holes, a play-off to produce a single winner will be conducted. Players in such a tie will continue over such holes as the Committee shall decide in a sudden-death, hole-by-hole play-off until the winner is determined.

2.4 Qualifying Positions

The leading 2 eligible players (excluding those who hold a current WPGA Tour Exemption Category of 5 or higher) who finish in the top 15 and ties shall qualify for the 2025 Womens NSW Open. Should ties exist; a play off will be used to separate ties. Should ties exist; the winner of the event will be determined by a sudden death play-off to establish a clear winner. The play-off holes will be announced by the Tournament Director. In the event of a tie for the qualifying positions a count back will be used taking the final 18-hole scores, then if required, the Golf Australia Countback method on the final 18-hole scores.

 

3. ENTRY AND WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURES

3.1 Close of Entries

Entries must be received by 5:00pm, Eastern Standard time, on Sunday, December 1, 2024 unless otherwise advised.

3.2 Entry Procedures

(a) WPGA Members

All WPGA Members wishing to enter shall do so via their account on Golf Genius.

(b) Non-Member Professionals

Non-Member Professionals wishing to enter should email jnicholls@pga.org.au seeking a non-member entry – this may be decided at close of entries on acceptance via the Tournament Committee only.

(c) Amateur competitors

All amateurs wishing to enter shall do so via Golf NSW entries which can be located at www.golfnsw.org.au. Amateur entries are subject to the Golf NSW General Terms of Competition for NSW State Events and Golf NSW Code of Conduct.

3.4 Entry Fees (incl GST)

(a)        WPGA Member $77.

(b)        Non-Member Professional $100.

(c)        Amateur $100.

3.5 Withdrawal Procedures

Any player wishing to withdraw from a tournament prior to the close of entries must email jnicholls@pga.org.au for all professionals and nicole.martin@golfnsw.org.au for all amateur players.

Note: No withdrawals will be accepted over the telephone or verbally.

a. Any player who has been confirmed as part of the “Final Field” of a Tournament after close of entries will forfeit their entry fee if withdrawing for reasons other than those permitted circumstances as outlined in the WPGA Membership Regulations.

b. Any player who fails to notify the WPGA or Golf NSW, through the correct procedure explained above, of their withdrawal from Qualifying will be subject to the appropriate penalty.

 

4. TOURNAMENT FIELD

The Bathurst Regional Qualifier field shall comprise of;

a.         56 players ranked in accordance with the 2024 WPGA Exemption Categories

b.         16 Tournament Invitations

c.         32 Amateur Invitations

Any positions not filled from a, b and c shall revert to (d) with a maximum of 20 positions.

 

5. AMATEUR PARTICIPATION

Any amateur who gains a position in the field either via entry, Invitation or Pre-Qualifying shall be permitted to change their status to Professional at any stage up until their tee time in the 1st Round.  This should be done in writing and emailed to jnicholls@pga.org.au. Amateur players will not be permitted claim prizemoney in any WPGA Sanctioned Tournament.

 

6. MEDIA RIGHTS

6.1 Grant of Rights

I grant and assign to WPGA, without limitation and with the right to re-assign, all television, radio, motion picture, gaming, photographic, media, internet and all other similar rights held by me with respect to all events sanctioned and conducted by WPGA or any other golfing activity scheduled “approved” or “co-sponsored” by WPGA (“WPGA Activities”), and agree to refrain from any action which will interfere with WPGA’s use of such rights.

6.2 Use of Image

I hereby grant to WPGA the non-exclusive right to reproduce, print, publish or disseminate in any medium (whether currently in existence or developed in the future) my name, picture, likeness and voice as well as biographical material for the sole purpose of the promotion of WPGA Activities and WPGA provided, however, that no endorsement by me of any product or service shall be made or implied without your express consent.

6.3 Public Relations

I acknowledge that it is an obligation of entry into pre-qualifying to refrain from comments to media that attack, disparage or criticize tournament sponsors or promoters, fellow competitors, the WPGA or its officials. Responsible expressions of disagreement with WPGA policies are not prohibited.  However, public comments that a member knows or should reasonably know will harm the reputation or interests of a tournament sponsor, promoter, fellow competitor, the WPGA or its officials, are prohibited.

 

7. CONSENT

By completing the entry process, I consent to any personal information (including medical records produced about you as a result of any medical treatment given during a WPGA Approved Tournament) being held by the WPGA and being collected, used and disclosed in the manner set out above.

 

8. INSURANCE

I acknowledge that membership of WPGA or participation in any WPGA Activities does not include any sports injury insurance, personal sickness or accident insurance or income protection insurance for me personally for any injury or illness I sustain whilst engaged in any WPGA Activity.  Members are expected and advised to make their own insurance arrangements taking into consideration their own personal needs and circumstances and to have regard to the limitation of liability set out below. 

 

9. RELEASE FROM LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by law, I acknowledge that WPGA and, their members, employees and agents, will not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage, injury to person or property, whether resulting in death or otherwise, arising out of, or related in any way to, any act or omission caused by the negligence or otherwise of any third party (including members) in the course of, or during the travel to or from any WPGA Activity, which includes, press conferences and related functions.

 

10. DRUG TESTING

All competitors participating in a co-sanctioned event with an Amateur body may be subject to drug testing by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency for banned substances as laid down in Golf Australia’s Anti-Doping Policy. Any competitor infringing this policy, or refusing to take a test, shall be disqualified and subject to any sanction(s) brought down by WADA.
