Forster Tuncurry Golf Club – Additional Local Rules
(To be read in conjunction with the Golf NSW and JNJG Local Rules and the Rules of Golf as adopted by the R&A)
The penalty for any breach of a Local Rule is the general penalty: |

loss of hole in Match Play and two strokes in Stroke Play. 1. Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2) 1.1. Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes with black tops and fence posts defining the boundary of the course. You may not take free relief if your stance or swing is impeded by posts, stakes or fences that define out of bounds. 2. Abnormal Course Conditions ... includes Ground Under Repair (Rule 16.1) 2.1. Areas encircled by white paint. The white paint may be marked as dots, broken lines, unbroken lines or white stakes. 2.2. Areas of bare ground in the general area cut to fairway height or less, other than divots. 2.3. Clearly defined wheel ruts made by course maintenance machinery and golf carts. 2.4. Exposed tree roots that are in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less 2.5. Bare Patches on Greens - line of play relief when putting a ball that is on the green (rule 16.1d) 2.6. Aeration Holes on Greens - if the ball is in or touches, relief is provided by placing the ball on the nearest point of relief (rule 16.ld) You may take free relief under 16.1 if your ball comes to rest on or in an abnormal ground condition including ground under repair, and outside a penalty area, whether or not that area is marked as described in 2.1. Relief Area includes Drop Zone Posts where provided - a drop zone is indicated by a green & white stripped post. If your ball lies in a no play zone you must take relief. |
3.1. All stakes defining penalty areas and ground under repair. 3.2. All Cart barriers, cart signs, distance markers, posts, ropes and bollards, tee signs, sand bins, fixed seating, stairs in bunkers, all watering equipment. 3.3. All roads and paths on the course. Relief can only be provided if the player's ball or stance is on gravel. 3.4. Tree Guards and staked trees 3.5. Sprinkler heads on the line of play, within two club-lengths of the putting green, and within two club-lengths of the ball. If your ball lies outside a penalty area and your stance or swing is impeded by an immovable obstruction you may take [free] relief under Rule 16.la, 16.1b, 16.1c, 16.1d or 16.le. Relief Area includes Drop Zone Posts where provided - a drop zone is indicated by a green & white stripped post. If your ball lies in a no play zone you must take relief. 4. No Play Zones (Rule 16.1f) 4.1. Enclosed Bordered Gardens, Trees or Shrubs identified by tree guards or white stakes. You must take the [free] relief described in Rules 16.1b, 16.1c or 16.ld when your stance or swing is impeded. Golf Carts must be driven on paths around tees and greens where provided. Drivers of motorised carts who breach this condition are subject to disqualification under Rule 1.2 of the Rules of Golf for serious misconduct.
