GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

 

FOOD:  The snack shop will have food available for purchase.

 

CADDIES/CARTS: Players are permitted to rent a cart. The cart rental rate is at the discretion of the host facility. Please review the USGA Cart Policy for Senior ChampionshipsPull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are not permitted in USGA Qualifiers.

 

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The range will open approximately one hour prior to the first tee time.

 

NON-METAL SPIKE POLICY: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with either traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or, regardless of design, spikes comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.

 

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions. It is the responsibility of the player to be present and ready to play when called to the tee for a playoff.

 

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, please contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 leading up to the tournament. If you must withdraw the night or weekend before then please contact the GAM office at tournaments@gam.org or (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future USGA and GAM competitions.
