Rydges Resort Hunter Valley – Additional Local Rules


(To be read in conjunction with the JNJG & GNSW Local Rules Hard Card and the Rules of Golf as adopted by the R&A)

 

Any Local Rules displayed on the clubs’ local rules board or as printed on the club’s scorecard are to be disregarded for this event. 

 

PENALTY AREAS – Rule 17

Penalty areas are defined by red stakes. The stakes are immovable obstructions.

 

  • 10th Hole - The boundary of the red penalty area to the left hand side and beyond the green is defined as the edge of the grass growing above the slope.
  • 11th Hole - The boundary of the red penalty area to the right hand side of the hole is defined as the edge of the grass groing outside the tree-line.
  • 16th Hole - The boundary of the red penalty area to the right hand side of the hole is defined as the right hand edge of the cart path, extending from the tee to the green.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS - Rule 18

Those areas beyond the course boundary fences and beyond any line of white stakes with black tops.

NOTE – all protective fencing that defines Out of Bounds is to be treated as a Boundary Fence and no free relief is to be given if impeded

 

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS – Rule 16

Those areas the margins of which are defined by white stakes and / or white lines, or GUR Signage. NOTE – The stakes are Immovable Obstructions. Except in a penalty area, clearly defined wheel ruts made by a mower, tractor or other motor vehicle.

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

Includes all fixed sprinkler heads, tee signs, distance markers and any directional signage around the course.

 

ROADS AND PATHS

Artificially surfaced or formed roads and paths (including those covered with gravel or wood chips) are Immovable Obstructions. All other tracks and paths that are not predominately surfaced are integral objects from which the ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 19).

 

STAKE TREES AND SHRUBS – No Play Zone

Staked trees and shrubs are defined as No Play Zones. If a staked tree or shrub interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16 – Abnormal Course Conditions. NOTE – The stakes are Immovable Obstructions.

                                               

DROP ZONES

Drop Zones have been made available on the following holes for balls which are hit into the penalty area;

  • 1st Hole (over the penalty area in front of the tee)
  • 6th Hole (over the penalty area in front of the tee)
  • 7th Hole – drop zone is only in play when the point of entry to the penalty area is to the right of the tree with the green marking on the edge of the penalty area – (over the penalty area just to the left of the bridge)
  • 9th Hole (over the penalty area that splits the fairway. The drop zone is on the right hand side next to the bridge)
  • 11th Hole (over the penalty area in front of the tee)

 

Additional Drop Zones have been made available on the following holes for area that are considered GUR;

  • 9th Hole (relief from the concreted area around the brewery, pro shop, grass area beyond the concrete roadway marked GUR and cart parking area behind the 9th Green)
  • 11th Hole (relief from new work behind the 11th green)
  • 18th Hole (relief from the concreted area around the brewery, pro shop, grass area beyond the concrete roadway marked GUR and cart parking area behind the 18th Green)

 

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES – Two strokes

 

 

 

Rydges Resort Hunter Valley – Tournament Information

 

  1. Tournament Office and Scorecard Return
    1. Prior to the round, players must report to the Tournament Office to collect their scorecard, local rules and pin sheets, a minimum of 20 mins before their allocated tee time.
    2. A player’s scorecard is deemed officially returned to the Tournament Committee at the completion of the round when the player has left the tournament office. Once the player has left the tournament office, no changes may be made to the scorecard.

 

  1. Halfway Live Scoring
    1. At the completion of 9 Holes all players must verbally enter their scores with the JNJG Scoring Officials, located at the back of the green under the marquee. These scores are for live scoring purposes only and changes can be made to the entered scores at the completion of the round, prior to returning the scorecard.

 

  1. On Course Enquiries
    1. Players may call the following numbers and either a rules official will attend if possible:

    2. In the case of a player being unable to gain assistance from one of the numbers above, the player may proceed in accordance with the procedure outlined in Rule 20.1c(3) of the Rules of Golf and nominate to play a second ball. The player must report the facts of the situation to the Committee before returning the scorecard, even if the player scores the same with both balls.

 

  1. Parents, Spectators and Bag Pusher Guidelines
    1. There are no caddies allowed at any JNJG Tour Event, except for those playing in the 11 Years & 10 Years & Under Division! These players are allowed to have a “Bag Pusher”.

      1. White Golf Ball Tee Markers – Boys Open Age
      2. Yellow JNJG Tee Markers – Boys Under 12 Tour
      3. Red JNJG Tee Markers – all Girls divisions

 

Make sure you keep up with the group in front, carry and use a sand bucket to replace divots, and fix all pitch marks on the greens. Let’s leave the course in the same condition as when we arrived!!
