2024 RWGA Presidents Cup

 

Event Dates: October 26 - 27

Start Time: Tee times Starting around Noon 

Format: Format will be low net, combined total over two days.  There will be a low gross prize as well.

Pairings: Pro Shop will make pairings Round #1 based on handicaps

and Net results by Flight for Round #2

 

Handicaps: Players will receive 100% of handicap (revision date TBD)

 

Scoring:  GolfGenius, with scorecards as backup

 

Pace of Play:  Each player must play without undue delay. 

It is each group’s responsibility to maintain their position and keep up with the group ahead of them.

Groups falling behind will be given 3 holes to close the gap before having to skip a hole. 

 

Tees:  All players Tees will be designated by where they post the most scores from. 

 

Flights:  If there are enough players, the field will be divided into flights, according to handicap.

 

Ties will be broken by a scorecard playoff using the USGA recommended policy for breaking ties.

 

Prizes:  Approximately one third of the field will receive prize money.

 

Scorecards:  Immediately following play, please return signed and attested scorecards to the pro shop so that results can be tabulated.  Do not post your score – golf shop will post all scores as tournament scores.

 

 

USGA Rules of Golf apply except as modified by the following Local Rules:

 

Distance Measuring Devices:  Permitted, provided they measure distance only.

 

Drop Zones on Hole #6

Cart Path Behind Green: If there is interference from the cart path behind the green, a player may, as an additional

option under Rule 16, drop a ball, without penalty, in the drop zone to the front of the green.

 

Penalty Area:  If a ball is in the water hazard, a player may, as an additional option under Rule 17, drop a ball, under

penalty of one stroke, in the drop zone on the dam located short of the green.

Ball near immovable obstruction near putting green:

Model Local Rule F-5 is in effect: 

The player may take relief when immovable obstructions are on or close to the putting green and on the line of play:

Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:

On the line of play, and is:

On or within two club-lengths of the putting green, and

Within two club-lengths of the ball.

But complete relief must be taken, which includes both physical and line of play interference.

Exception – No Relief If Line of Play Clearly Unreasonable. There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

 

Doubt as to Procedure:  When in doubt as to procedure, a player may play a second ball under Rule 20.1c3, and get a ruling from the committee before turning in her scorecard.

 

Out of Bounds:  Defined by white stakes and fences bordering the perimeter of the golf course. 

All public roads are out of bounds.

 

Ground Under Repair:  Enclosed white line areas define ground under repair. 

The white lines are considered in ground under repair.

 

Red Penalty Areas:  Defined by red stakes.         Yellow Penalty Areas:  Defined by yellow stakes.
