Player Eligibility

 

a) The term "eligible player" is defined, for all major invitational championships, as follows:

i) All Pacific Northwest Section, PGA of America members, (except those classified as “A-3”, "F" or as "Reserve").

ii) All Pacific Northwest Section, PGA of America associates who have passed PGA PGM Level I and are eligibly employed.

iii) All other Professionals who are not associated with the PGA of America in any aspect in the past 5 years. (2019 and before)

 

NOTE: All Pacific Northwest Section, PGA of America, associates who have met all qualifications of entry with the exception of passing PGA PGM Level I, will have access to the Championship only under the following conditions:

a. By direct entry if professional field of PGA members and associates who have passed PGA PGM Level I at close of entry does not exceed a total of 136.

b. Associates may not accept exemptions until successfully completing PGA PGM Level I.

i) A sponsor's or Tournament Committee invitee agreeable to both parties who is a PGA of America member. (A-3 members are eligible under this provision.)

ii) Amateurs must have a current USGA index of 18.0 or less at the time of entry.

b) All Pacific Northwest Section PGA Members and those associates who have been approved for full section playing privileges will be eligible for the remaining section championships and tournaments except as provided below.

 c) Members classified as Life Member Century are ineligible to participate in any Section or Chapter golf event. This provision supersedes and modifies any other provision in Section or Chapter regulations or rules.

iii)  PGA Members classified as “F” or “Reserve” are ineligible for direct entry.

 

 

Conditions of Entry

 

a) All entries must be submitted on an official entry form.

b) All applicants must agree to conditions of competition.

c) All entries must be received with valid credit card information to cover the entry fee.

d) All entries must be received at the Tournament Headquarters Office by the entry deadline in a form approved by the Board of Directors. NO ENTRIES BY TELEPHONE WILL BE ACCEPTED AND POSTMARK DATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

e) Entries are subject to acceptance by the Pacific Northwest Section and applicant in the event of acceptance may be rejected at any time thereafter.

f) All entrants are subject to all Rules, Regulations, provisions of the Constitution and By-Laws of the Pacific Northwest Section and other conditions applicable to the tournament.

g) All entrants agree to abide by the Section Dress Code. The Section Dress Code is – All participants shall present a neat appearance, in both clothing and personal grooming. In no instance will blue jeans be permitted in any Pacific Northwest Section championship by professionals. The policy for the amateur dress code will be established by the Tournament Committee with the approval of the Board of Directors. Players in violation of the dress code will not be allowed to start until properly attired even if this results in penalty or disqualification. Players changing to improper attire during the play of a round are subject to immediate disqualification.

h) In Open events, post entries will be received if the field is not full, professionals will have priority for open professional spots, with amateurs having priority for open amateur spots. When the original pairings are made, all spots will be filled by available players.

i) All entrants agree to abide by the Section Caddie Regulations as provided as a supplement to these regulations and made available at the tournament site.

 

EXEMPTIONS AND EXEMPTION CATEGORIES

 

NOTE - All Tournament Exemption Entry Fees are $200 instead of $250 & noted to the Tournament Committee upon registration of the event.

 

NOTE - Professionals must meet the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 5 to be awarded exemptions.

a) The tournament committee may invite up to twelve players (professional or amateur). The Tournament Committee may also assign up to six of its invitations or a portion thereof to the Sponsor.

b) The Sponsor shall have the right to six exemptions in the tournament proper for specifically named players. All such players must be either PGA of America members or associates in good standing.

c) Professional exemptions (for WA Open, Rosauers Open, NW Open): The following exemptions apply to PNW PGA Members (except those classified “A-3”, “Reserve” and “F”) and eligible associates who have completed PGA PGM Level I. Eligible associates who have not completed PGA PGM Level I are not eligible for exemption #18.

i) The champions, for the past 5 years in each of the following events:

(1) Northwest Open Invitational

(2) “Reserved”

(3) Oregon Open Invitational

(4) Washington Open Invitational

(5) Rosauers Open Invitational

(6) PNW PGA Professional Championship

(7) Washington PGA Championship

(8) Oregon PGA Championship

ii) The champions, for the past 2 years in each of the following events:

(9) PNW Assistant's Championship Rosauers Open Invitational PNW PGA Professional Championship Washington PGA Championship Oregon PGA Championship

(10) PNW Seniors Championship

iii) The current champions only from the following events:

(11) PNW PGA Professional Champion (#6)

(12) Oregon Assistant's Champion

(13) Washington Assistant's Champion

iv) Also, those in the following categories:

(14) The top 25 finishers, including those tied for 25th place, Hudson Cup point accumulators from the previous year.

(15) **Top 25 professional finishers, including those tied for 25th place, the previous year of the event being played.

(16) All past champions of the event being played.

(17) Host professional and eligible assistants.

(18) Eligible non-exempt professionals bringing FULL team to the Pro-Amateur of event being played (on space available basis, subject to Pro-Am entry form completed and team fee paid in full by close of entries for tournament proper). Washington, Oregon and Rosauers Opens only.

(19) President of the Pacific Northwest Section

(20) The Section may provide the defending Champion with an exemption; such exemption will not affect any limitations on other exemptions.

** NOTE - In these categories, when determining the top 25 (this is only for PNW PGA professionals) all non-PNW PGA professionals are eliminated.
