Sea View Golf Club Local Rules

The following Local Rules are to be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the local rules as shown on the scorecard. July 19th, 2023

CAR PARK - OUT OF BOUNDS (OOB)

All of the Sea View Golf Club car park and the driveway from the entry gate is OUT OF BOUNDS. White posts with black tops define the OOB area. West of the defined entrance, while playing the 3rd/12th hole, is also OUT OF BOUNDS.

A ball coming to rest on Jarrad Street or the roundabout may be lifted and dropped without penalty, no nearer the hole.

PATHWAYS

If your ball comes to rest on a limestone pathway, free relief may be taken at your nearest point, no nearer the hole. These two pathways are from the tee box on the 5/14th hole and the pathway behind the 2nd/11th green.

NURSERY - 3RD/12TH Hole

Relief may be taken if your ball finishes in the nursery located to the left-hand side of the 3rd/12th hole. Treat as GUR. Drop to be taken in marked drop zone without penalty.

RETICULATION TANK AND SHED - 3RD/12TH HOLE

If your ball comes to rest within the area delineated by the white posts and fence by the reticulation tank, relief may be taken in the marked drop zone without penalty. A ball found in the vicinity but outside the white posts is still in play. A lost ball is to be treated as stroke and distance.

RUBBISH COLLECTION AREA - 3RD/12TH HOLE

This area is on the left-hand side approximately 95 meters from the green. The area is marked with limestone rocks and a white line. Treat as GUR. Relief to be taken in the marked drop zone without penalty.

If your ball comes to rest between the shed and fairway, it is in play. Machinery in the area is to be treated as immovable obstructions.

BIRD DAMAGE ON GREENS

If your ball comes to rest on the green within an area damaged by birds, relief may be taken without penalty. Lift and place no nearer the hole. If your line of putt is affected by bird damage or repairs, relief may be taken without penalty. Both you and your marker must agree that the damage has been caused by birds.

BIRD/ANIMAL DAMAGE

Various sections of the course are frequently damaged by corellas and rabbits. Free relief may be taken if your marker agrees that your ball lies in an abnormal situation caused by the birds or rabbits.

8TH/17TH FAIRWAY

Out of bounds on the right-hand side is delineated by the inside of the Koper’s Logs.

BUNKERS

Relief may be taken from dog paw prints (rule 16 1b, 1c - abnormal course condition), and the ball can be DROPPED without penalty.

No relief from human footprints or poor raking without incurring ONE STROKE PENALTY (RULE 16 1c).

9TH TEE GARDEN BED

Relief may be taken from defined garden bed only.

SPRINKLERS AROUND GREENS

If your ball comes to rest around the green and a sprinkler is in your line of play, you may take free nearest point of relief and no nearer to the hole IF:

  • The sprinkler is NO MORE than two club lengths away from the putting green, and
  • You are within two club-lengths of the sprinkler.
