2023 Champion - Keith Chalmers

The Carnoustie Match Play Championship

The Carnoustie Match Play Championship is an event that embraces all the great attributes about modern-day golf. The introduction of the new World Handicap System (WHS) has provided a clear structure for mixed-gender and mixed-tee competitions and The Carnoustie Match Play Championship capitalises on these changes to create a competition that allows all golfers to participate. Open to all amateur season ticket holders with a handicap index of 54.0 or less, the championship is a handicap Match Play knockout competition, with matches taking place on either The Championship Course, The Burnside Course or The Buddon Course. The tournament will be contested by the first 128 players who enter and all matches will be arranged on a date and time suitable for both players and must be completed by the set date. The competition starts on 1st April 2024 and a list of ‘round completed by’ dates is shown below:

1st Round (128) – Completed by 30th April
