The South East Group qualifier for the EG Men's County Finals was held at Dyke Golf Club on Saturday 13th July 2024.

 

The course was presented in excellent condition. The weather was calm in the morning and the course record (66) was equalled by one player.The wind gained strength throughout the afternoon and provided a further test for the players. Nonetheless, there was another course record equalling score in the afternoon. 

 

The championship is played by teams of six players with the best five scores from each round making up the team score. BB&O led the field after the first round with Hampshire in second place 8 strokes behind. In the afternoon, the Essex players came in with the best score (352) which was good enough to overhaul the BB&O lead from the morning round. Essex won the team event by 2 strokes from Hampshire will go on to the national finals at Whittington Heath Golf Club in August.

 

The individual winner was Ryan Craig of Bedfordshire with 67 & 69.

 

We thank everyone at Dyke Golf Club for providing a superb course and for ensuring that everything went well on the day.
