What is match play?

Match play is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match.  In match play, a player earns a point for each hole in which they have bested their opponent.  The winner is the player who has won the most holes.  In other words, you win a hold by completing it in the fewest number of strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.

Handicap:

You need to be a member of Golf Canada and have a handicap established by May 30th.

It only takes 54 holes entered into the Golf Canada website or app, to establish your handicap. These can be any combination of 9 or 18 holes. Click here to sign-up for a Golf Canada membership at a discounted rate through our league. (it's ok to add games played in the last few weeks)

Course choice: decided on by you and your playing partner

Your handicap will be reviewed and you will receive your pairing (via email) with instructions to complete your round before a certain date (start date will be in June). Once the round has been played, report the winner back to Marilyn Brown, the same day as the match. You will receive email correspondence from Marilyn (aka Brownie) throughout the season regarding your next playing partner and contact information.

Costs:

Each player is responsible for paying their green and/or cart fees, which is dependant on where you and your partner decide to play.

Don't delay!

Last day to register: Saturday May 31st, 2024 (8 p.m.)

Field is limited to 32 players: 16 for each group (9 holes & 18 holes)
