System 36
System 36 is a same-day handicapping system that is similar to Callaway 15, Callaway 16 and Peoria.
Here is how System 36 works. Each golfer starts at 0 Playing Handicap. For each shot, the following operation is done:
- Gross double bogey or worse - add 2 points to golfer Playing Handicap
- Gross bogey - add 1 point to golfer Playing Handicap
The resulting value is a number, between 0 and 36, which represents the golfer Playing Handicap for the day. The Playing Handicaps are treated as regular Playing Handicaps, we stroke the card and calculate the final result (stableford points, low net, etc.).
In the example above, Diane ends up with a 15 Course Handicap. The red notes indicate where the strokes were compiled.
