Tournament Format
Type: 4-Person Scramble
Tees: All players will play from the Black Tees (Men and Women).
Starting Holes: Teams will have their starting holes randomly assigned.
General Rules
- Team Play:
- Each team consists of four players.
- All four players tee off on each hole.
- The team selects the best shot and all players hit their next shot from that position.
- This process continues until the ball is holed.
- Order of Play:
- Players may play each ball in whatever order they choose during actual 18 hole tournament. (Playoff format you will have to declare order of play)
- The next golfer of the group will drop a ball from knee height within one club length of the selected shot, no closer to the hole.
- Ball Placement:
- The ball must be dropped from knee height and may NOT go closer to the hole. If the ball does go closer to the hole, the player must redrop.
- On the putting green, the ball should be placed within one putter head length from the mark, no closer to the hole.
- Players may lift and clean their ball after all shots. However, a drop must occur after lifting.
- Marking Shots:
- A tee will be used to mark the location of the selected shot.
- Players must play their shot from within two feet, that is less than one putter length, of the marked spot, no closer to the hole.
- All Putts must be marked.
- If a team is on the green in 2, player one putts and is short and walks up to tap it in. This action would count as holing the ball for a 4. The rest of the team DOES NOT get to finish the hole!!!
- No Mulligans:
- There are NO mulligans allowed in this tournament.
-
- Spotters:
- Spotters will be assigned to follow all 18 teams of golfers to ensure fair play and to assist with locating golf balls, as well as keeping score. Each team is responsible for keeping a scorecard and checking with their spotter at the end of each hole.
-
Scoring
- Recording Scores:
- Each team is responsible for keeping a scorecard and checking with their spotter at the end of each hole. At the end of the round, scorecards must be submitted to the tournament committee. Golf Genius Scores entered by the spotters are considered final!
- Tie Breaker Format:
- In the event of a tie, a sudden-death playoff will determine the winner.
- The playoff will start on Hole 18 and continue to Hole 1, then Hole 2, and so on, until a winner is determined.
- During the Scramble, the order of players will be declared. The order must be followed for each shot, including all putts. If players go out of order they will be eliminated from the tie breaker.
- The first team to win a hole outright will be declared the winner.
- Once a winner is declared, if there is still a tie between 2 remaining teams they may choose to split the money or continue in a playoff format. If teams do not agree the playoff format will continue.
- If more than 2 teams are tied the playoff format will continue until we are left with two. Once two teams remain, they again can agree to split or choose to play it out. If teams do not agree, the playoff will continue.
