Player’s Notes:

  1. Practice:

Official Practice will be available to all G4D players on Thursday 28th March (on the Official Practice Day for the West of Ireland Championship). Please call County Sligo Golf Club to reserve a time if you wish to avail of this. In addition, players may practice on the course from 4pm on Sunday 31st March (or immediately following the commencement of the final match of the day in the West of Ireland Championship Round 2). Please note that there may not be sufficient daylight to facilitate a full 18-hole round at this time. For both practice days, players are requested to play one ball only from tee to green, in accordance with the rules for practice in the West of Ireland Championship.

  1. Buggies:
Buggies will be available for players with an EDGA Buggy Indication. It is anticipated that buggy usage will be on a shared basis between both players in the group; however, if you have special requirements in this regard please make contact with me by return and we will endeavor to facilitate.

  1. Pre-Registration:

We would be grateful if you could fill out the registration form by next Tuesday (26th March). Click Here to fill out.

  1. Course and Rules:
Depending on weather conditions, it is our intention to play the White Course (Men) and Red Course (Women) at County Sligo Golf Club for the two days of the event. Tees may be moved forward in adverse weather.

Par Adjustment for Gross and Net Scoring Purposes:

  1. There will be prizes for the leading two gross finishers and leading net finisher. All competitors are eligible to win the gross prizes and all amateur players are eligible to win the net prize.
  2. In the gross competition, the best score ‘to par’ will determine the winner. Therefore a 74 for a female competitor off the Red tees will be considered 1 under par while a 71 for a male competitor off the White tees will be considered level par.
  3. In the net competition, the form of play will be net stroke play. A female competitor off the Red tees will receive a par adjustment on their normal Playing Handicap (calculated from their H.I and Course Handicap in the normal way), owing to the par of the course being four shots higher than the par of the White (Men’s) Course. This calculation is made in accordance with the WHS Rules of Handicapping, using the Mixed Tee Calculator which we have also attached for your information. We will make all calculations and each player’s handicap will be on the scorecard so no further action is necessary from you.
