Junior Level One

 

Mission: To create a fun and inviting environment for new junior golfers to learn the basics of golf (grip, stance, posture) as well as working on Full Swing Mechanics and Short Game Skills. In doing so include physical fitness exercises to improve our athletes overall health.

 

                                               

Day 1

            Welcome students & hand out first tee gifts (5 Mins)

            Group Warm Up  (5 Mins) & Split into 3 Groups

 

            Full Swing (15 Mins) 

                        Discuss Grip & Posture

                                    Use Y Clubs for to show students how to hold it

                                    Demo & Discussion

                        Assess Golf Swings - See every student

                                    Pair students up (3 swings & switch)

                                    Students not hitting in Hula Hoops

                                                Additional activities while kids wait

            Putting (15 Mins)

                        Discuss Grip and Set up

                                    Demo & Discussion

                        Pair Students up & assess putting strokes

                                    One Golf Ball and Putt to a target of 8 ft

                                                Goal: Make 2 putts from 8ft

                                    Use Putting Rails

 

            Chipping (15 Mins)

Discuss Grip and Set up

                                    Demo & Discussion

                        Pair Students up & assess chipping strokes

                                    Use foam golf balls

                                    Focus on getting the golf ball into air

                        Students not hitting in Hula Hoops

                                    Demo & Discuss rotation and Finish

                                    Pair students up (3 swings & switch)

Students attempt to keep all of the golf balls within the target circle

                                                Goal: Get 5 balls into the target

                                    Focus on getting the golf ball into air
