Local Rules

Golf Ireland’s Hard Card  is in operation. The local rules on the club scorecard will not apply. Additional Local Rules will be uploaded to the Team Lounge. Hard Card available to view under Team Captains’ Resources.

 

Ties

In the event of a tie after the two legs, each Team Captain will have time to nominate a player from each side that will play off over 3 holes, and if tied after that then it will be sudden death over the same 3 holes. Nominated three holes are: 1,2 & 18,

Course Setup

Tullamore Golf Club - Blue tees will be in operation.

Elm Park Golf Club – Blue Tees will be in operation.

Caddies Caddies are Permitted
Pin Positions Pin Positions will be set by Golf Ireland and will be shared with Teams Captain on the morning of each final.
Photographs

There will be no official photographer at the venue however Golf Ireland officials may take photos of the qualifiers.  

 

Pennants & Presentation Presentation will be made at the conclusion of the match in Elm Park. Golf Ireland Leinster Region will award a Trophy, Pennant & Medals to the winners of the final. Runners-up will receive medals. 
Referees

Referees will be situated throughout the course to give rulings when required. These referees will be also be monitoring the pace of play. Should players fall out of position, they will be timed and may be penalised for bad times. Please ensures players are conscious of the need to play at steady pace.

 

It is important to note referees are not assigned to follow any individual group. A team captain is not part of the side under the rules of golf and cannot act on the players’ behalf in this regard. However, a team captain can advise the players to call a referee.

Check in & Official Team Sheets

Team Captains are encouraged to submit their Team Sheet alongside supporting handicap report with the Golf Ireland official on-site one hour prior to tee off. Teams Sheets may still be amended up to 30 minutes before tee time as per Golf Ireland  regulations. If any manual adjustments were made to players handicap, please provide support documentation. Sheets are available to view in Golf Ireland Club Hub Here.

Scoring 

As per regulations, all matches must be played to a finish unless an overall result is reached, in which case unfinished matches will be declared halved. Thus, all matches in the first leg must be played to a conclusion; there are no half matches.

 

Once a match has concluded, players are requested to return their “I Won Cards” to the Golf Ireland Admin Area immediately after their round.

 

 

Buggies

Buggies are permitted for Team Captains on the day. 

Transportation Policy 

A copy of Golf Ireland's Transportation Policy is available for the Club Hub and will be strictly enforced. Please note that this policy intends to facilitate players only with physical disabilities in allowing such individuals to use Golf Buggies. However, the use of a Golf Buggy will be subject to any heath and safety restrictions laid down and is contingent on the individual sourcing own transportation with own third party insurance, as buggies will not be available form the host clubs for this purpose.

 

Any competitor intending to use a Golf Buggy in accordance with the Transportation Policy MUST contact the regional office in advance via email at leinster@golfireland.ie or by phone at 01-5054000 and are REQUIRED to submit the appropriate certification in advance of their arrival at the venue. Submission of certification in person on the day of competition will not be sufficient to be allowed to use a buggy

Regulations and Terms of Competition

It is essential that you familiarise yourself with the Regulations for Cups and Shields Competitions which can be found on the Golf Ireland Club Hub.

As per the Golf Ireland Hard Card, a Team Captain may consult with and give advice to the members of his team during the course of play but may not walk onto the putting green or point out a line for putting. Please note that only one individual may be appointed by each team for such purposes.
