Welcome to the 2024 Men's Night

Gentlemen, we hope everyone has been having a fantastic winter, but it’s now time to start thinking about golf season and, with that, Men’s Night! We hope to see even more participation this season to continue the growth of the league. The season will kick off on Wednesday, May 1 and will conclude Saturday, Sept. 14. Much like last season, the top 30 finishers from the DHR Global standings will take a bus trip to a TBD away course on Sept. 18. While a lot of aspects will remain the same this year, there are some notable changes that are listed below.

Overview

  • League will run every Wednesday night beginning May 1, with the exception of the finale
  • $15 minimum weekly fee (OPTIONAL: add $5 for gross snips and $5 for net snips). Fee will be higher for shotgun starts due to meal being included
  • Guests are also required to pay weekly fee in addition to their $75 green fee
  • Several hole prizes throughout the round including long drive, long putt, KP and KP in 2
  • Registration required weekly (will open at 6 a.m., 7 days in advance, and will close at 11 p.m. the night before the round)
  • You will book your own tee times via Golf Genius
  • All rounds will be 18 holes
  • Season-long DHR Global points race returns (same points system as 2023)

NEW for 2024

  • 4 shotguns all season (opening night, Sept. 4, Sept. 11 and finale)
  • Aside from the shotguns, it will be weekly crossovers with exception of Aug. 21 and Aug. 28 (straight tee times)
  • CASH ONLY (cashback option will NOT be available)
  • Gross and net snips will now be optional (you can do both, one, or none)
  • Weekly games (best ball, stableford, etc) have been removed. Individual low gross and low net prizes will remain
  • Weekly prize presentations following the round will return
  • Weekly $2,500 hole in one prize on #17
  • New season-long team element will be added (details below)
  • NO Fivesomes

Season-long team format

In addition to the individual component, we will be adding a season-long team element to Men’s Night for 2024, similar to LIV Golf. The regular season will begin on the opening day of Men’s Night and will conclude on the finale.

Teams

  • Four players per team with one player designated as the captain
  • If you don’t have a team, you can enter as a free agent
  • Any free agents who have not been added to a team prior to the deadline will be given the option of remaining a free agent for the season OR being grouped with fellow free agents to form a team
  • The free agent pool can be used throughout the season if teams require a sub
  • Trades can also be made throughout the season if agreed upon between both team captains and approved by Joel
  • All transactions (free agent pickups and trades) must be emailed to Joel. If you’re providing your own sub outside of the free agent pool, please also email Joel with their name and handicap index
  • Teams are free to provide their own team name. If not, one will be provided for you
  • Teams are NOT required to play together every week

Regular season

  • Season will begin on the opening Men’s Night shotgun on May 1, 2024 and will conclude Aug. 28, 2024
  • The top 3 finishers on each team each week will be used in determining the team score
  • Team scores will be the cumulative net score of the top 3 finishers on each team
  • The points for the season standings will be determined as follows:

                1: 32 points

                2: 24 points

                3: 16 points

                4-5: 12 points

                6-7: 8 points

                8-9: 4 points

                10-11: 2 points

                12-13: 1 point

                Remaining places: 0 points

Playoffs

  • The first round of the playoffs will be Sept. 4, 2024
  • The top 8 teams from the regular season standings will make the playoffs, with the 1st seed playing the 8th seed, 2nd seed playing the 7th seed and so on
  • The playoffs will switch to match play
  • For each playoff round, every team member will have a singles match with a member of the opposing team
  • Matches will be decided by the team captains with the higher seed choosing the first match and alternating from that point
  • All matches will be handicapped at 50%
  • Scoring to determine which team advances in the playoffs will use the Ryder Cup system: 1 point for a win and ½ point for a halve
  • If there is a tie at the conclusion of the singles matches, a playoff will take place between one member of each team chosen by the team captains
  • The finals will take place on the Men’s Night Finale shotgun on Sept. 14, 2024
