This league currently has a waiting list for the 2024 season.
E-mail Alexa directly if you'd like to get on the waitlist.
Greetings Oneka Ridge Women’s Wednesday PM League Members,
Welcome to the 2024 golf season! The first night of league will be Wednesday, April 24th and run until Wednesday, September 11th (20 league weeks with 4th of July off). The format this year will be similar to last year with a tee time side going off between 3:30PM to 6:00PM and a shotgun side starting at 5:30PM. Women on the tee time side have standing tee times each week and are expected to cancel out of their tee times if they are not playing that week. Women on the 5:30PM shotgun side will do the same as they did last year and sign-up on Golf Genius for a starting hole. The change for the shotgun side this year is that sign-ups will be at 8PM on Monday evenings and close at 2PM Tuesday afternoons to allow for more planning time. This year you will be able to pay for your greens fees and cart each week via our Chronogolf website or app without having to come into the Pro Shop to pay. One person from your team should come and pick-up the scorecard and we will have live scoring on the GolfGenius app. The league information, results and shotgun sign-up will remain on the GolfGenius website and app.
If you plan to play in the league and are a returning player, you have until March 20th to indicate you are playing by paying for your league fee online or coming into the Pro Shop to pay in person. After that date, we will open it up to new players and we won’t be able to guarantee your spot in the league. New players should e-mail Alexa directly to be put on the waiting list. Our tee time side is currently FULL and the shotgun side has a waitlist.

The league fee will be $160.00 this year, which will go towards weekly payouts on games, prizes and food for 4 fun event nights. This year, the fee includes the $33 GHIN handicap because we have changed to a handicapped league. For returning players, we will import your regular nine hole league scores from last year, 2023 into GHIN so most of you should have your index established before the first league round. GHIN requires 54 holes of scores to be entered before a handicap can be established. You will not be able to be eligible to win money in the net division if you do not have an established handicap. For new players, it may take 6 weeks of play to establish a handicap, so we recommend golfing additional rounds outside of the league to establish your handicap quicker. As soon as your league fee is paid, we will set-up a GHIN profile for you and an e-mail will be sent from GHIN for you to manage your handicap. Every week we play regular golf (not scrambles), the Pro Shop will submit your scores to GHIN after your round.
The daily green fee for our league will be $23 for 9 holes walking and $34 for 9 holes with a cart. Seniors, age 62 and over will be $22 for 9 holes walking and $32 for 9 holes with a cart. You will be able to pay for green fees online via Chronogolf app or in the Pro Shop the day of league play.
After each event, we will post the winners of the events on Golf Genius. You can access Golf Genius via the website or by downloading the app on your phone.

Prize payouts won will go into individual accounts in the Pro Shop. You can use this money to buy merchandise in the pro shop including clothing, shoes, golf clubs, balls, tees, gloves, etc. Money cannot be used for greens fees, driving range or for food and beverage. You will always be able to check your credit balance online or in the Pro Shop.
The schedule of events is listed below and is on your Golf Genius home page. Since we changed to a handicapped league, we have a wider variety of games to choose from this year. This year it was decided to not have proxies out each week, but you will be able to win proxies on special event nights as an optional $5 cash game that must be paid in the Pro Shop.
Our opening meeting will be on Wednesday, April 17th at 5:30PM at the Hugo Legion Post 620.
One person from your team is required to be there as we will be going over all the information you need for the year including explanation of games, payouts, rules, etc. Cash bar opens at 5PM with the buffet open at 5:30PM and the meeting starting about 5:45PM. Prizes will be given out at the end of the meeting so you won’t want to miss it.

Golf Event Explanations
Three Score Throwout: Each player will record her score for each hole. At the end of the round, the Pro Shop will throw out your 3 worst scores compared to par so you are left with 6 holes to score. Scores are then added up and the lowest scores net and gross scores win.
Give Me 5!: Each player will record her score for each hole. At the end of the round, we pick the lowest 5 scores according to par to keep and the lowest net and gross scores win.
Low Gross/Low Net: Each player will record her score for each hole. The lowest net and gross scores will win prize money. Remember the net score is determined by subtracting the player's handicap from the gross score (number of strokes actually taken).
4 Person Best Ball: Each player plays her own ball. Record your scores for all players on the team. The best score out of the four players, on each hole will count as your score. Ex. if I get a 5 on a hole and the rest of my group got 6s, the lower score, 5 will be the score on that hole for the team. Scores are then added up to make one 9 hole round and the lowest team scores net and gross win.
Stableford: Each player will record her score for each hole. Stableford scoring is a stroke-play format in which the high total wins, not the low. That's because, in Stableford, your final score is not your stroke total, but rather the total points you have earned for your scores on each individual hole. A double bogey is 1 point, a bogey is 2 points, a par is 3 points, a birdie is 4 points, an eagle is 5 points, double eagle and hole in one is 6 points. Ex. if you par the first hole and birdie the second, you've accrued 7 points. Points are added up by the Pro Shop after your scorecard is turned in and the highest total points wins.
Three Hole Throwout: Each player will record her score for each hole. At the end of the round, the Pro Shop will pick three holes at random to be thrown out. Everyone’s scores for these three holes are thrown out. Scores are then added up and the lowest scores net and gross win.
2 Person Combined Score: Each player will record her score for each hole. At the end of the round, the Pro Shop will blindly create two person teams and combine their scores for those 9 holes. Scores are then added up and the lowest scores net and gross win.
2 Person Alternate Shot:
This game is played in two person teams with a Player A and Player B partner. Team decides because the first tee who will tee off first on their starting hole. Let's say they decide on Player A to hit the opening tee ball. So on the first hole, Player A hits the tee shot. They walk to the ball and Player B hits the second shot. The third stroke is played by Player A. Then Player B hits the fourth. They alternate hitting shots until the ball is in the hole.
They also alternate hitting tee shots, so since in our example, Player A hit the drive on the first hole, on the second hole Player B tees off, and so on throughout the round. Two person teams record one score on their scorecard. Lowest scores using 50% of handicaps will win. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
3-3-3: This is a two person team game. Each foursome will have two teams. On the first three holes 1-3, players will play a best ball. Each player plays her own ball and then the team records the best net score. The next three holes 4-6, players will play alternate shot. Alternate Shot is a format in which 2-person teams alternate hitting the same golf ball. The first player tees off, the second player hits the second shot, the first player hits the third shot, and so on until the ball is holed. On the following hole, the second player tees off first this time then the first player hits the second shot and so on. On the third hole, the first player tees off , the second player then hits the second shot and so on. Finally, on the last three holes 7-9, the 2-person team will play a scramble. Each person on the team will tee off then the players decide which shot they like better. The two players then play from that spot. The person who's shot was not taken picks up their ball and moves it to within one club length of the selected spot. See scramble rules below. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
2 Person Best Ball: Each player plays her own ball. Record your scores for all players on the team. Note, this is a 2 person team, not 4. The best score out of the two players, on each hole will count as your score. Ex. if I get a 5 on a hole and the rest of my group got 6s, the lower score, 5 will be the score on that hole for the team. Scores are then added up to make one 9 hole round and the lowest team scores net and gross win.
4 Person Scramble: A 4 Person Scramble is a team format. After each golfer on the team plays a stroke, the teammates compare the results and select the best shot. All players then play the next stroke from that spot.
-
All players in the foursome tee off and then pick the best shot
-
All players in the foursome then hit from that location
-
The ball can be moved within one club length of the best shot (except on the green), but no closer to hole
-
You cannot move out of the rough, sand trap or hazard with your one club length
-
When you are on the green, you all putt from the marked spot.
-
Repeat this process until you hole out.
-
All putts must be holed - no gimmees
-
Teams write down one score for their team on the scorecard
-
Lowest scoring team wins
-
These scores are not GHIN eligible
Shamble: In a "Shamble, each golfer tees off and the best shot is selected, but from that point on, each golfer plays her own ball until it is holed out. What's fun about a Shamble format is that each person gets the benefit of the best drive, so they typically start out with a nice advantage. Keep your regular 9 hole score with the added shamble advantage. Low gross and low net scores win. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
4 Person Best Ball - Magic Ball: Each team is given a specifically marked colored ball that will rotate among players on each hole. The team is each assigned a number 1-4 based on your scorecard. The first name on the scorecard is #1 and so on down the line. The colored ball rotates to each player in the rotation at each hole. Example: #1 person on the scorecard will play with the magic ball on holes 1,5 and 9. #2 person on the scorecard will play with the magic ball on holes 2 and 6. #3 person on the scorecard will play with the magic ball on holes 3 and 7 and #4 person will play with the magic ball on holes 4 and 8. This is a team game so you will record one score per hole. The score recorded is the magic ball score. If you lose your ball, your team is ineligible to win. At the end of the round, return your ball back to the Pro Shop with your scorecard. Lowest team score wins. If no team brings back the magic ball, the team that kept theirs the longest wins. If you keep your own score separately, you can record it in GHIN after your round. Pro Shop will not be submitting this team score to GHIN.
Two Clubs and A Putter:
Just like the description says, before you tee off on each hole, you will declare which two clubs you will use for the entire hole plus your putter. Choose wisely! Example on a par 5 you might pick your driver and five iron. Remember you can only use those two clubs until you reach the fringe. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
Four Person Scramble Step Aside:
This event is played according to the rules of the "Four Person Scramble" with one exception.
The person whose ball was selected as the best position shot, does not hit the next shot. Only three players hit from that spot. The person who did not hit the previous shot will be allowed to hit the next shot and, once again, the person whose shot was selected does not hit this time.
The only time four members of the team will be hitting from the same location is on the teeing ground and on the green surface. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
Four Person Dice Scramble:
This event is played according to the rules of the "Four Person Scramble" with one exception.
Each team will get one dice from the Pro Shop when they pick-up their scorecard. At the tee box, the dice is rolled. If a 1 is rolled, the first person listed on the scorecard tees off and she is the only one to tee off on that hole. If a 2, 3 or 4 is rolled, the 2nd, 3rd or 4th person listed on the scorecard tees off and she is the only one to tee off on that hole. If a 5 or 6 is rolled, the team can decide who tees off for the team. After the tee shot, normal scramble rules apply until the ball is holed out. These scores are not GHIN eligible.
