Tournament Format
Monday, July 8 – OVERALL DIVISION - 36 holes, stroke play; the low 32 players will proceed to match play. A tie for the medalist honors as well as the 32nd spot, shall be decided immediately after the completion of the 2nd round by a hole-by-hole playoff.
Play will be a double tee start with tee times ranging from 7:30-9:40am in the morning and approximately 1:00-3:10pm in the afternoon.
Note: If a player qualifies and is unable to compete in the Match Play Championship, he must notify the Committee immediately so that the next eligible player may be included.
Match Play: The round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won. General numerical USGA draw shall be used.

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.
Note: Should there be a need to adjust second round starting times, players will be notified when they return their first round scorecards. Be sure to confirm your afternoon starting time before leaving the scoring area.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop at (231) 591-3765. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Junior State Amateur contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility. NO PRACTICE ROUNDS ARE ALLOWED ON MONDAY, JULY 8

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4-3, for which the penalty is the GENERAL PENALTY for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the round.
CADDIES/CARTS: No caddies are allowed during any phase of the Championship. All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag. Push carts will be allowed for the championship. Spectator carts are not permitted.
FOOD: Monday: A complimentary lunch will be served only to the participants involved with the Michigan Junior State Amateur. Lunch will be served between the morning and afternoon rounds on Monday for the Overall Division and on Tuesday for the 15 & Under Division. On all other days the clubhouse will have food available for purchase.
GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players prior to play on the days of the competition. The range will be open 1 hour prior to the first tee time of each day.
PLAYOFF: In case of ties for the final spots into the match play, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff. In addition, in the case of a tie for the Medalist in stroke play, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff. It is the responsibility of the player to be present and ready to play if called for a playoff.
