KWGA 18-HOLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENTS

ACE OF ACES PLAY-OFF                                                    No Charge 

Monthly gross and net winners of Ace of Aces play off for Gross and Net prizes.  Ace of Aces winners paired together on a Playday and the rest of the players will follow the field.  This tournament is usually played first Tuesday in November.    

  

ECLECTIC 2-DAY TOURNAMENT                                      Charge                               Eclectic stroke play tournament is played two days in a row on the same course with pin placements the same.  The second day, players may pick up on a hole if they cannot better their score.  Overall Low Gross and Low Net and First and Second Low Gross and First and Second Low Net are paid in each flight.  

  

HORSE RACE TOURNAMENT                                            Charge                               

Sign up for the race in January and accumulate points throughout the year by playing in KWGA regularly scheduled Playdays.  The top ten qualifiers and their jockeys will compete in the race scheduled on a Wednesday in November. 

 

KWGA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP (min 8 players)               Charge 

Stroke Play on each of 3 courses.  Only resident KWGA members may participate in the KWGA Club Championship Tournament.  The Club Champion will be the person with the lowest total gross score for the three days, regardless of her flight.  Ties for Gross Winner will be broken by a 3-hole playoff starting on the 1st tee.  If needed, the playoff will go to sudden death, starting on the 4th hole.   Members not participating in the 3-Day Championship Tournament may play in the 2-Day Tournament. Gross and Net Winners in both Tournaments.  All invited to Awards Reception at conclusion of play on Thursday.

 

  

MEMBER-GUEST                                                                Charge 

The Annual Member - Guest is limited to KWGA members and guests with an established 18 hole USGA handicap (maximum 36).  Format is determined by the Member-Guest Tournament Chairs.

MEMBER-MEMBER                                                             Charge                   

Sign up with a Partner for the event.  Format will be 6-6-6.  There is a maximum stroke differential, usually 10 strokes.     

 

 

 

MEMBER/MEMBER TEAM MATCH PLAY                          Charge       

Sign up with a partner for this event.  This is team Match play where scoring consists of individual hole holes won, halved or lost (1 point, ½ point or 0 points).  The winning team is the team with the most points at the end of play.  There is a maximum stroke differential, usually 10 strokes.  Format is three 6-hole matches played on Day 1 and two 6-hole matches played on Day 2.   

 

MYSTERY EVENT                                                                  No Charge           

This event is played the last Playday of the year.  May be any kind of event.  

             

PRESIDENTS CUP (Beth Prewett Memorial Trophy)      Luncheon Charge  

This event honors all KWGA presidents since 1974.  Beth Prewett, the 1985 KWGA president, donated The Beth Prewett Memorial Trophy in memory of her husband Charles, to pay tribute to KWGA Presidents.   Invitations will be sent to past Presidents to participate in golf and/or lunch. Tournament Chair will determine the game format to be played.   

 

The President’s Cup trophy will be awarded to the individual Low Net player of the day and plays her own ball through the stipulated round.  That winner will be kept secret until the Year-End Awards. Otherwise, winners of the game played will be announced that day and paid as a regular Playday.  

  

PINK TOURNAMENT                                                            Charge        

A combined 9&18-Hole League event fundraiser for breast cancer. Tournament Chairs will provide details. KWGA Social following play. 

 

SENIOR/SUPER SENIOR TOURNAMENT                        No Charge 

Members over 55 compete for low net.  There are two winners of this event, a senior winner (55-69) and a super-senior winner (70+). Results will be kept secret until the KWGA Year-End Awards. Event is held in conjunction with a Playday and other players “follow the field”.   

  

SUMMER TOURNAMENT                                                  Charge                  

Members compete in a 2-day tournament during the summer.  The same course is played on 2 consecutive Tuesdays and the sum of the best score on each hole is the player’s gross score for tournament.  Gross and net winners are paid. 

  

TURKEY SHOOT SCRAMBLE                                            Charge    

A Scramble format and prizes as determined by Tournament Chair.
