PLAYDAY GAME DESCRIPTIONS
(game scores calculated by Golf Genius unless stated otherwise)
Always record gross score and putts – tally the front, back and total for each.
Subtract handicap strokes from the total Gross Score to tally the Net score. Confirm Golf Genius gross scores match the paper scorecards. Sign your scorecard!
1/4 of the field will be winners (tournaments may be different). Prizes will generally be awarded on Net score. A few games & tournaments include Gross awards.
USGA Tie Break Standard, unless announced differently before play, will be the last 9, last 6, last 3, last 1. For 9-Hole League it will be the last 6, last 3, last 1.
ACE OF ACES
A flighted Low Gross and Low Net event. Overall low gross and low net winners (and ties) will advance to the Ace of Aces Playoff in November. In addition to the overall winners, prizes will be awarded to Low Gross and Low Net as determined by number of players participating. (A player may win the overall low gross or low net only once during the year). Overall Ace of Aces monthly winners are manually tabulated by Playday Chair. Monthly winners advance to the November Playoff.
ACES WILD (9-Hole League only – computed manually, not Golf Genius) Subtract 1 stroke for each one (or less) putt hole, from net score.
BLIND CRISS CROSS-ON THE MARSH COURSE (18-Hole League)
The Marsh Course is unique, #2 & #11 are par 4s, #3 & #12 are par 5s, etc. The Pro Shop will select nine holes that will be used for the event score (choosing from each pair of holes #1 or #10, #2 or #11, #3 or #12, etc.). Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
BLIND NINE (18-Hole League) or BLIND FIVE (9-Hole League)
The Pro Shop will select nine (or five) holes that will be used for the event score. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
BLIND PARTNERS
Sign up as an individual for this partnered event. Partners are drawn by the Pro Shop. The partners combined scores for low net will determine winners.
CRIERS (9-Hole League only – computed manually, not Golf Genius)
Each player throws out her worst three holes and substitutes par in their place.
EVENS
The event score will be calculated on the even numbered holes. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
GUESS YOUR NET (9-Hole League only – computed manually, not Golf Genius) Before teeing off, record on your score card in the event space, the net score you expect to shoot. After play, record your actual net score in the event space as well.
LOW PUTTS (9-Hole League only – computed manually, not Golf Genius) Players with the lowest number of putts for the day will win.
LUCKY 4’S
The event score will be calculated using all par 4 holes. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
MAKE YOUR OWN FOURSOME – 2 BB NET
Sign up in a 4-some. The team score will consist of the 2 Best Net Balls totaled together. Winners are the lowest overall net team scores.
MAKE YOUR OWN FOURSOME 3-2-1
Teams of 4 players will select the 3 best net scores on each par 3 hole, the best 2 net scores on each par 4 hole and the best net score on each par 5 hole. Winning teams are the lowest overall net score.
MAKE YOUR OWN FOURSOME SCRAMBLE (a non-Ringered game)
Everyone plays from the selected series of shots until holed out. A minimum drive quota may apply. (Team handicap used is USGA standard = A (25%) + B (20%) + C (15%) + D 10%).
ODDS
The event score will be calculated on the odd numbered holes. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
O.N.E.S
The event score will be calculated on the holes beginning with the letters ONE-S (1,6,7,8,9 and 11,16,17 &18). Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
PARTNERS – BEST BALL
Sign up with a Partner for the event. The team score will be the one lowest net ball per hole. Winners are the lowest overall net team scores.
PARTNERS – BEST BALL STABLEFORD
Sign up with a Partner for the event. Played using full handicap per hole as in individual Stableford points. Play for points and use the best ball points on each hole for your team score. Winning teams have the highest number of points.
PARTNER SCRAMBLE (a non-Ringered game)
Sign up with a Partner for the event. Two-person net scramble. Select the best ball on each shot until holed out. (Team handicap used is USGA = A (35%) + B (15%). Winning teams are the overall lowest net scores.
PARTNERS - STABLEFORD COMBINED
Sign up with a Partner for the event. Played using full handicap per hole as in individual Stableford points. Play for points; the partners’ combined Stableford points will be the team score. Winners have the highest number of points.
PARTNERS – SURPRISE ODDS OR EVENS
Sign up with a Partner for the event. The Pro Shop will randomly assign partners as “ Player A” or “ Player B” and A’s score to be counted on either the odd or even holes and B’s score counting on the other holes. The team score will be the net for player A and B on their assigned holes. Winners are the lowest overall net team scores.
S’s & T’s
The event score will be calculated on the holes that start with S or T (2,3,6,7 and 10,12,13,16,17). Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
SELECTIVE NINE (18-Hole League) or SELECTIVE FIVE (9-Hole League) The event score will be calculated using the best 9 (or best five) net to par holes. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
SCRAMBLE (a non-Ringered game)
A team consisting of four players, A-B-C-D. Everyone plays from the selected series of shots until holed out. A minimum drive quota may apply. (Team handicap used is USGA standard = A (25%) + B (20%) + C (15%) + D 10%).
SHAMBLE (a non-Ringered game)
A team consisting of four players, A-B-C-D. Select the best team drive on each hole. Play your own ball from there until it is holed. Everyone plays from the selected series of shots until holed out. A minimum drive quota may apply. The team score consists of either the best net ball or the 2 best net balls totaled together. Winning teams are the lowest overall net team scores.
STABLEFORD POINTS
Players use full handicaps taking strokes where they fall on the card. 5 points awarded for a double eagle, 4 points for an eagle, 3 points for a birdie, 2 points for a par, and 1 point for a bogey. Points are on net basis. Winners have the highest number of points.
STABLEFORD POINTS – 2 BEST BALLS
A team consisting of four players, A-B-C-D. Played using full handicap per hole as in individual Stableford points. Play for points and use the combine 2 best ball points on each hole for your team score. Winning teams have the highest number of points.
3-3-3 (18-Hole League)
The event score will be calculated using the best three par 5 net to par scores, best three par 4 net to par scores and best three par 3 net to par scores. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
3’s & 5’s ON THE ISLAND COURSE (MUTT & JEFF)
The event score will be calculated using all par 3 & par 5 holes. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
THROW OUT 3 HOLES
The three worst net to par holes are thrown out. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
THROW OUT 6 HOLES (18-Hole League)
The six worst net to par holes are thrown out. Winners are the lowest overall net to par scores.
