Welcome to the 2024 SILGA Match Play Kick Off

2024 SILGA Four-Ball Match Play

Rules of Play & Schedule

Format and Rules

Four-Ball Match Play – Each player plays her own ball and the better of the two balls constitutes the team score on each hole.  Players will receive 90% of their current (day before match) USGA handicap.  In each match the player with the lowest course handicap will play at scratch, and all other players will receive the difference in handicaps as the strokes fall on the card.

USGA Rules for match play will govern all play with the exception of the Seabrook Island Club’s local rules.  Once a team is closed out, the match is over.  Teams who lose the first match will move into the consolation flight.  The ball shall be played as it lies in the absence of wet conditions resulting in “cart path only”.  All matches played in February will be played “lift, clean and place” in the fairway.

This is a Major Tournament; a handicap is required and the maximum handicap allowed is 36.  All play will be from the Pelican tees.

Scheduling Guidelines

Each team is responsible for scheduling their matches after Round 1.  Due to the tight range of match dates, teams should immediately contact each other to ensure matches are completed within the specified date range.  Matches must be played within the specified date range; therefore, every effort should be made to find an agreeable date/time to play a match.  If both teams agree, a match can be played prior to the specified date range.

If a team is not available within the specified date range, they must forfeit the match.  If each team requests at least one date/time to schedule a match within the date range, but the teams cannot mutually agree on a date/time, a coin flip will determine the winner.

Remember, one player can compete for the team if her partner is unavailable for any or all of a match.  Entry fee:  $15 per player plus applicable golf fees

Thanks for playing in the 2024 SILGA Four-Ball Match Play Championship – hope you had fun with the format and competition!
