Competitor Information

Format

 

Those in the Under 8s, Under 10s & Under 12s age groups will play 11 holes of modified stableford. Playing Holes 1-11.

The Under 14s category will play an 18-hole stableford competition.

Each age group will have their own specific teeing ground to use for their round. Full information will be available on the day at the Championship Office and from the Starter.

 

Registration

All players and accompanying adults must register in the Championship Office on site at Abergele Golf Club at least 30-60 minutes prior to their tee time. The Championship Office will be in the Committee Room.

 

Parents and Supporters

It is a requirement that all competitors are accompanied by a parent/carer whilst at the event.

Information for parents/guardians and supporters will be given out at the Championship Office when the player registers.

Withdrawals

Players who have to withdraw are requested to inform the Championship Manager at the earliest opportunity. Please email championships@walesgolf.org

 

Accommodation

There is plenty of accommodation nearby in Abergele.

 

Dress Code

Smart casual clothing is expected for all. No denim trousers to be worn during the event.

 

Practice Facilities

  • Putting Green by 1st tee
  • Practice ground by 9th and 11th holes- 2 short game areas, only hit from middle range- no long shots
  • Outside nets
  • Driving Range 10-minute drive away- LL18 5SR Kimmel Park Golf

 

Practice

There is no official practice day for this event, however those that wish to practice may find it best to practice Saturday 5th October. Practice rounds are to be booked by phoning the club on 01745 824034. Please quote PING Junior Tour Final when booking.

 

Catering

The clubhouse and catering will be available throughout the day until the end of the event.

 

Presentations

Presentations for each age group will take place once all players in that age group have completed their rounds. Golf clothing will be suitable attire for the presentations. For the Final prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed players in each category and the leading female and male player in each category, as well as the Order of Merit Winner from each category.

 

Volunteers & Officials

There will be a number of volunteers and officials from Wales Golf and Abergele Golf Club present at the event.

They are here primarily for your safety and to ensure the smooth running of the competition. Please follow any instructions you are given by Wales Golf/Abergele GC representatives whilst at the event.

 

 

Video & Photography

Video filming and photography may take place at the event on behalf of Wales Golf consistent with Wales Golf’s photography policy. There is provision for consent within the parental consent forms, however if you have any reservations please contact the Championship Office. If any other person wishes to take photographs at the event (other than of their own child) they must obtain prior permission from Wales Golf.

 

Parental Consent Forms

Completed Parental Consent Forms and adherence to the Parental Code of Conduct are a requirement for this event. A link to an electronic Parental Consent Form is attached to the email accompanying this information, please complete this online prior to the event. Any player who has not returned a completed parental consent form to Wales Golf either before or at registration may be withdrawn from the event.

Safeguarding

The Wales Golf representative responsible for safeguarding at the event will be Rebecca Hawke, Competitions Coordinator.

Wales Golf, through its safeguarding policy and procedures, aims to provide a safe environment for children and young people participating in its Championships. However, parents and guardians of players under the age of 18 are reminded that they remain responsible for the safety and well-being of their child/ward whilst their child/ward is at the event (including the official practice day).

Liability

Competitors are reminded that neither Wales Golf nor Abergele Golf Club can be held responsible for the loss of equipment or personal possessions.
