Volunteer Descriptions

Player Registration
These volunteers are the initial contact that players have with Broadmoor and with the 2024 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship. To create a good first impression, volunteers will guide the players through the registration process, which includes reviewing their contact information, finalizing attendance to evening events, securing caddies/golf carts, taking an official photograph, autographing the official pin flags, distributing player gifts, and similar responsibilities.

Player Hospitality
Volunteers will greet the players upon initial arrival, take them on a tour of the Clubhouse, help them find their lockers, oversee the players’ locker room amenities, and answer questions.  Volunteers will also be present around the Clubhouse and course transition areas to ensure players’ needs are being met.

Practice Facility
Volunteers must be available at the driving range, practice putting greens and short game areas to assist with the upkeep of the player flow and oversee these areas. They will be responsible for distributing range balls and overseeing the placement of the  “A” frames with player name placards. During the down-time, volunteers are asked to sort and re-bag range balls. Hours of operation for the practice areas at Broadmoor, based on the daylight available, will be 6:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m.

Spotters
Spotters help maintain the pace of play by locating balls that have landed off the fairway,
especially since many players will not be well-acquainted with Broadmoor Golf Course and areas where it may be difficult to find their golf balls. Prior golf experience is not necessarily needed for either of these volunteer roles.

Medical
Medical services volunteers are responsible for supporting any medical needs that may arise during the Championship.  A minimum of three medical support personnel are required onsite whenever players are present. This includes one individual who is a medical doctor, emergency medical technician and/or registered nurse, and at least two individuals who have been certified in the use of AED defibrillators.

Walking Scorers
Walking scorers assist with live scoring for the Championship so everyone, on and off property, can view real-time data from the Championship. Walking scorers will accompany each group or each match. During the round, hole-by-hole scores for all players will be entered on tablets furnished by the USGA.

Transportation/Shuttle Drivers (if necessary)
Depending on traffic and parking situation, shuttles may be needed to transport players, caddies, and guests from one location to another. We will also need assistance with staging and movement of golf carts during busiest days of the Championship.

Standard Bearers
Standard bearers will walk with quarterfinal matches through the final match and will carry a sign displaying the status of the match.
