2024 Weekend Member Game Format

The Weekend Game has a $20 cash entry fee, paid in the Pro Shop before play begins. $8 goes into a Team payout pot, $7 into an Individual Net pot, & $5 into a Net Skins pot this is an allocation change based on member input. Signup is done via Golf Genius. There is a blind draw for 2, 3, or 4 person teams done by the Pro Shop after play has begun – 1 or 2 net balls counting.

Hole assignments – We will be using a random draw process for starting holes this year, that will occur in the Pro Shop when you check in. If you are playing a Match Play round, you will be assigned one of the hole # 1 groups – 1A, 1B, or 1C. We will have 2 tee times prior to the shotgun start that can also be used for Match Play rounds - in case the shotgun hole # 1 tee assignments are full.

Game is open to members with a GHIN handicap & guests, please only invite 1 guest. This year we are going to be using a “Target Score” process and maybe adjusting the golfers target score (handicap – up or down) after each weekend, depending on their score shot. The golfers’ initial target score will be their handicap plus 72 (par), - i.e. a 10-handicap golfer will have a target score of 82.

Payouts

• Golf Genius used for scoring/payouts. In the case of ties, the $$$ for the tied places (team &/or individual) are pooled & split evenly.

• Net Skins – 50% of your handicap, maximum of 9 Skins strokes. If there is a gross eagle, it will beat a net eagle. If there are tied gross eagles, there is no skin to be paid.

Golfer doesn’t pick up winnings. Please show respect for the person handling payouts, it is a voluntary effort. If a golfer wins $$$ and is not there to collect or hasn’t designated someone to pick up their winnings, $5 will be deducted from their winnings as an administrative fee.

The Pro Shop will hold winnings from NO SHOWS at the payout process for 2 weekends. After that, those $$$ will be returned to Weekend Game commissioner for buying “group beverages”.

• The payout chart is a tab in Golf Genius – under the Weekend Game. Based on the number of golfers playing that day, it is easy to understand if you will win by looking at the chart.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

Cancellations – The club has started a policy of a charge for not cancelling a reservation. Please show respect for your fellow golfer if you are not going to play & contact the Pro Shop as soon as possible, no later than 45 minutes before our shotgun start. If golfers don’t cancel, the Golf Genius pairing process and play is delayed making the necessary changes for the NO SHOWS. There will be a $10 No Show charge, if you do not cancel your Weekend Game signup.

2024 Weekend Member – Target Score

This year we are going to be using a “Target Score” process. Depending on the score you shoot, your target/handicap may move up, down, or remain the same. We will be adjusting the target score/handicap after each weekend. The golfers’ initial target score will be their handicap plus 72 (par), - i.e. a 10- handicap golfer will have a target score of 82.

Adjustments to your target score/handicap – based on your score shot.

• Actual scores will be stroked controlled, before reviewing target score adjustments.

For each 3 strokes a target score is beaten, there will be an adjustment – decrease of 1. Beat target by 3 strokes, adjustment of 1. Beat target by 6 strokes, adjustment of 2, etc – no maximum on the number of strokes your target score might be reduced.

For each 3 strokes above your target score, there will be an adjustment – increase of 1. There is a maximum increase of 2 per week.

• If the golfer beats their target score by 3 strokes on Saturday, there will be a 1 stroke reduction to the target score/handicap. Using the example above (82 target score), if the golfer shoots a 79 – the target score will be reduced by 1.

• If the same golfer shoots another 79 on Sunday, the target score will again be reduced by 1. The next weekend the target score will be an 80 & the golfers handicap in Golf Genius will be 8.

• If another golfer with a target score of 82, shoots an 85 – their target will increase 1. There is a maximum adjustment up of 2 on a weekly basis.

• The adjustments for the weekend are cumulative. If the first golfer shot 79 on Saturday (-1) & 85 (+1) on Sunday, there would be no adjustment.

Adjustments to your target score/handicap – based on 1st Place Low Individual Net

• Golfers target score will be decreased by 1 – combined with an any adjustment based on their actual score to target score.
