NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
USGA Rules govern all play
Tee Markers: Competitors shall play from the white WDCGA tee markers, which correspond to the green tee yardages at Mount Vernon CC.
Pace of Play: “Pace of Play Memorandum” will be enforced. See District book for copy.
Yardage Markers: Any yardages on markers and sprinkler head yardages are measured to the center of the green. Red, white, and blue flags indicate front, middle, and back portions of green for hole placement.
Mulched Areas: Are NOT treated as ground under repair and the ball shall be played as it lies.
Penalty Areas: Defined by red stakes and/or lines. (Rule 17) Disregard any available Mount Vernon CC DROP AREA (hole 16).
Ground Under Repair: Defined by white lines. However, unmarked damaged areas on greens made by an animal or greenkeeper are treated as GUR for line of putt only if the ball is on the green. Place at nearest point (Rule 16.1).
***Sodded area between greens 2 and 7 is GUR. ***
Mesh Tree Protector: MESH TREE PROTECTORS (only the mesh, not the tree) is an immovable obstruction. Proceed under Rule 16.1.
Ball Lost or OB: USGA Model Local Rule E-5 is available as an option for a ball virtually certain to be lost or out of bounds. See MVCC Local Rules Sheet.
Rules Issues in Stroke Play: Player proceeds under Rule 20.1c(3). Announce intention to play two balls and state which ball will score if the Rules permit. Player must report facts to Committee before returning score card or the player will be disqualified.
Ties: The winner of the tournament is the player with the lowest gross score for 18 holes. In the event of a tie for the Tournament, there will be a hole-by-hole play-off at the conclusion of play. Ties for any other prizes will be resolved by a match of cards according to the USGA recommended method.
Return of Scorecards: Immediately upon completion of play, players must return their scorecards to the WDCGA scoring area. The WDCGA will post your score as a competitive round.
Restrooms: Restrooms on the course are located near the greens of holes 3 and 14.
CARTS: Carts may scatter on all holes, preferably in the fairway cut or on the path.
