Prize Money: $140,000 Prize Pool for professionals. Amateurs will receive prizemoney for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.

Event Format: 36 Holes Strokeplay – (2 Days) + Pro Am

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Tuesday 9th April: Tournament Pro Am (COMPULSORY FOR ALL COMPETITORS)

Wednesday 10th April: Round One – Random Draw + Tournament Pro Am

Thursday 11th April: Round Two – Seeded Draw

Presentation will take place in front of clubhouse following conclusion of day 2.

 

PLAYER REGISTRATION

Competitors in the Women’s World Sand Greens Championship will be required to register in person at the Tournament Office, located in the clubhouse at Walcha GC, between 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday 8th April or 8:00am to 12:00pm Tuesday 9th April.

The draw will be made and published on Tuesday 9th April.

 

TOURNAMENT PRO-AM

As a condition of entry all players must make themselves available for the Tournament Pro Am on Tuesday 9th April 2024. The Tournament Pro Am will be conducted on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th April (which includes round one).

 

LIVE SCORING

All Players are required to do Live Scoring at the Women’s World Sand Greens Championship via the WPGA Golf Genius Scoring App.

 

YARDAGE BOOKS

Yardage Books will not be available for this event - Players may use Distance Measuring Devices for distance measuring only.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Available on Monday 8^th April as a roll up start. 

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES AND TIMES

Practice Fairway: TBA as there is none on site

 

PLAYER REQUIREMENTS

Carts/Buggies: *NO PULL BUGGIES OR CARTS AVAILABLE*. Players are requested to bring their own.

 

DRESS REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with minimum standard of dress during a tournament as per the WPGA Membership Regulation. i.e. neat casual/golf attire, no denim. 

Due to the nature of the sand greens, it is advised not to wear your good golf shoes as they can get dirty/ruined. It is best to wear dark or older shoes.

 

BUS TRANSFERS

For players competing in the 2024 Australian Women’s Classic at Bonville Golf Resort, bus transfers may be organised to Walcha, and from Walcha to Sydney Airport at the conclusion of the tournament, depending on the number of players keen to take up this option.
