For the U. S. Women's Amateur Sectional Qualifying at the Kenwood Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, July 9, there are 72 competitors for THREE (3) qualifying spots & two (2) alternate spots.

Morning traffic in and around the Washington, D. C. area is severe. Please allow plenty of time to travel to Kenwood CC.

Course Setup
Here are the approximate yardages that you will play from during the competition. This yardage is from the blue tees except for hole #2 (red), hole #15 (white), and hole #18 (white). Note: these yardages are subject to modifications.

Registration
There is no formal registration. There is no call to the tee; it is the player’s responsibility to arrive on time. Players should report to their starting tee as the group ahead leaves the 1st teeing ground.
Food & Beverage
The club's - grill/stop and go by 10 tee - will be open and has a variety of menu items and beverages. Credit card only – no cash.
General Information
The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and the R & A govern play. This information sheet, the USGA Rules hard card - HERE - and any site-specific Local Rules and Terms of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf. Local Rules of the host course do not apply. The Committee in Charge will settle all questions. Reference to the Rules and Local Rules may be found in the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf. Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is: 2 Strokes.
Code of Conduct
As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships.
Scoring
A player’s score, upon completion of her round, will be entered into our USGA/Golf Genius platform and will be available HERE. You may download the Golf Genius app to your phone and then log-in with the GGID Kenwood2024. Score sheets will also be posted on the score board near the 18th green and 1st tee.
Caddies
Caddies are permitted; however, you are responsible for making your own arrangements for a caddie. You may bring your own caddie. You may carry your own bag. Pull/push carts are allowed for practice and the competition. The club has a limited number of push carts available for rent for $10.00 per round.
Misc. Rules and Information
DRIVERS/GOLF BALLS: The Local Rule for Conforming Driver Heads is in effect, See Model Local Rule G-1. The Local Rule requiring that all golf balls used be on the List of Conforming Golf Balls is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-3. Please check the USGA website, www.usga.org, for a list of approved golf balls and drivers.
One Ball Rule
Model Local Rule G-4 (also known as the One Ball Rule) will NOT be in effect for any USGA qualifying rounds in 2024.
GROOVES: The players clubs must conform to the grooves and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010. See Model Local Rule G-2.
DMDS: The use of distance-measuring devices (DMD) to measure distance only (Rule 4.3) is permitted in all USGA qualifying rounds. Be certain to disable any slope function!
PACE OF PLAY: It is a condition that a player must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by the committee. Guidelines are on the event portal and will be distributed to each player at the first tee prior to their start. Allotted time to play your round is 4 hours and 26 minutes.
Prohibiting Use of Motorized Transportation
Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-6.
Players must not ride on any form of transportation during the stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. A player must either carry his own clubs or bring his own caddie. Pull/push carts are allowed for practice and the competition. NOTE: A player’s clubs MAY NOT be transported by a caddie on a motorized golf cart.
Spectator Carts
USGA policy prohibits spectator carts. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Practice Range
The practice range opens one hour before the first starting time weather permitting. Range balls will be set up at the practice range and are complimentary for competitors only before the stipulated round or a play-off. Please allow time to get from the range to the first tee.
Play-off
In the event of a tie for the final qualifying positions or alternate positions, a playoff will begin immediately upon the completion of all play and approval of scores. It is the player's responsibility to be aware of where she stands in relation to the leaders and the possibility of being in a playoff. Do not leave unless you are absolutely positive you are ‘out of the mix.' Playoff information will be posted on the scoreboard.
Withdrawals
Please withdraw via the USGA championship registration portal HERE or e-mail champs@usga.org. If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00PM on July 8, call or text Moose Brown at (443)463-8940.
Attire and Footwear: Short pants are permitted. They must be of a traditional style. No 'short shorts', cargo shorts, jeans, cut-offs, or t-shirts. It is a condition at all qualifying sites, that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of the condition: 2 strokes first stroke, DQ at second stroke.

When Competition is Final
The competition is final when the low score medal has been presented to the low scorer or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee.
Housing
A limited number of dorm style rooms are available at the Club for contestants. The cost is app. $99.00 (plus taxes) per night. Please contact Lynne Hunter, PGA/LPGA at lynne@kenwoodcc.net for information and room availability.
