Handicaps: The World Handicap System (WHS) enables golfers of different abilities to play and compete on an equitable basis, no matter how or where they play. The Handicap Index is a numerical calculation of a golfer's demonstrated ability; the maximum handicap is 54.

CGWGC Membership requires an established Handicap Index which is tracked through the USGA Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) digital system, using your personal GHIN ID. If you do not already have a GHIN ID, our registration process will create one for you, and we will provide instructions to finalize setup of your handicap in the GHIN system.

Any new member without a Handicap Index must play and post a minimum of 54 holes; (6) complete 9-hole rounds, (3) 18-hole rounds, or a combination of these, to establish a Handicap Index. Once you have an established handicap, you are eligible to win weekly tournament payouts. Members with a handicap index between 43 and 54 will be assigned a max adjusted handicap of 42 for tournament playdate calculations.

Maximum Hole Score: Per WHS, the maximum hole score is calculated as:

Par + 2 + handicap strokes received

When the format of play allows, players are encouraged to pick up their ball at their maximum hole score to keep up a good pace. For competitions, this maximum hole score adjustment is applied hole by hole during the round. The exception is during Club Championship days. Players must hole out their ball *on every hole - on both Club Championship days* to be eligible to place and receive winnings.
