OKANAGAN LADIES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP – 2024 RULES SHEET
GENERAL RULES
- Golf Canada “Rules of Golf” govern all play except where modified by local rules.
- Play will be from the Silver Tees or Red Tees
- Pace of Play: The allotted time to complete your round is 4 hours 20 min. Keep up to the group in front of you.
- If in doubt as to a procedure, you may use Rule 20.1c(3) and play 2 balls. This MUST be reported to the Rules Committee before you hand in your agreed upon master scorecard, even if your score was the same with both balls.
- If you choose to play a provisional ball, you must announce that it is a provisional before a stroke is made with it. Otherwise it becomes the ball in play regardless of whether or not you find the original ball. Rule 18.3b
- Out of Bounds: Boundary fences or white stakes. There is no free relief from boundary fences. Private property and public roads are OB.
- Penalty Areas: Defined by red stakes and/or lines. Rule 17
- Hole #14, Quail Course: Transition Area - play the ball as it lies and you may ground your club. The large rocks in this transition area are an integral part of the course and there is no free relief from them.
- Free Drop from Constructed Pathways: This includes maintenance roadways and areas of wood chips that are considered part of cart paths. Rule 16. In all other areas of wood chips, play the ball as it lies.
- You cannot ask or give ADVICE. This does not include public information ex. distance to the green.
LOCAL RULES
1. The Local Rule (E-5) regarding a ball lost or out of bounds, will not be used for this tournament. If in doubt as to whether or not your ball is lost or out of bounds, please play a provisional ball.
2. During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device.
3. Penalty area in front of #14 Quail green: If there is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the penalty area, the player may play another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options in Rule 17.1d. If the original ball is found outside the penalty area, the player must continue to play with it. If the original ball is found in the penalty area, the player may either play the original ball as it lies or continue with the ball played provisionally. If the original ball is not found or identified within the three-minute search period, the player must continue with the ball played provisionally. *** This Local Rule is only applicable if it is not known to the player whether her original ball is in the penalty area or not. If it is known to be in the penalty area, a provisional is not permitted. A ball dropped and played, would not be provisional, but would become the ball in play.
SCORECARDS
Players will be given individual scorecards which must be exchanged. The tear-off section at the bottom is for you to keep track of your individual score. At the end of your round, individual scorecards must be verified and signed by you and your marker. Turn your card into the scoring table. Each group will enter scores live into Golf Genius.
BREAKING OF TIES
Ties for overall Low Gross for both the Silver Tee competition and the Red Tee competition will be broken by sudden death playoff starting on Quail #1. All other ties will be broken using the Golf Canada Tie Breaking Method.
GOLF ETIQUETTE All players are expected to play in the spirit of the game by acting with integrity, showing consideration to others and taking good care of the course. In case of a serious breach of etiquette, the Committee may disqualify a player.
