This is a sanctioned event for Order of Merit points and eligibility to play in the OVGA Cup.
ABOUT THIS TOURNAMENT
The first Men's A class was played in 1921.
The first Men's B class was played in 1950.
COMPETITION FORMAT
Men's Class 'A' - 54 Holes
After 36 Holes of play, a cut of the top 24 and ties will be made.
Men's Class 'B' - 36 Holes
The champion will be determined after 36 holes of play.
MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
Top 8 players qualify for spots.
ELIGIBILITY & FIELD COMPOSITION - MEN'S PRIORITY
Open to all male amateurs who are members of the OVGA or recognized Provincial Public Player Program.
Handicap Indices are required for eligibility. All players' indices will be verified with the Golf Canada Handicap System.
Men's Class 'A' - Index 8.0 and below
Men's Class 'B' - Index 8.1 and up

The Men's City & District Class 'A' field will be 60 players* determined in the following process.

At the close of entries, the field will be established by
1.) players who have entered by the deadline date and appear on the priority list
2.) players who do not appear on the priority lists and have entered the tournament by the deadline, based on the time and date of registration via the OVGA website Golf Genius.
3.) The waiting list will adhere to a chronological time of entry order.
The Men's City & District Class 'B' field will be 30 players* determined in the following process.

At the close of entries, the field will be established by:

3.) The waiting list will adhere to the same chronological order.
* If another division does not have a full field at closing of entries, the remaining spots will be added to the other divisions in an alternating process, and players admitted from the waiting list in chronological order. This is the only process where a division will have more than the established maximum players for that field
Handicap Index:
Players are responsible for ensuring their Handicap Index is up to date at all times, are required for eligibility, and will be verified with the Golf Canada Handicap System. Handicap indices at the time of the draw will apply.
Method of Breaking Ties:
If there is a tie for 1st place, the players tied will play in a Sudden Death Play-Off. If a play-off is not possible due to weather or darkness, the tied players will share 1st Place. The sudden death hole should have been selected prior to the completed round and will depend largely on the course, the amount of course traffic and the generosity of the Club Owner/Management/Pro Shop. A tied player that is not available to play shall default to the other players.
All ties other than 1st place shall be broken using the Golf Canada Method for retrogression as follows:
Compare the gross scores of all tied players for the last nine holes, if still tied determine the winner on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole. If still tied after the 18th hole, all players share the tied spot. The "last nine holes, last six holes, etc." is considered to be holes 10-18, 13-18, etc.
Prizes and Trophies:
25% of entry fees are allocated to a prize pool from which division winners and top finishers (gross and net) are awarded PGA of Canada prize vouchers.
Order of Merit:
Order of Merit points are awarded to top 25 finishers.
1st = 1000, 2nd = 900, 3rd = 800, etc
Power Carts:
Power carts are permitted, but may be limited. It is the player's responsibility to contact the host club to reserve their own cart and verify the cost of the cart.
