Rules and Information

Categories: Based on the number of players. Categories may be combined based on the number of players in each age group. Women, Mixed, and Men.

The goal of this event is to offer amateur golfers ages 50 + a day of camaraderie while enjoying the game of golf through fun competition and friendly challenges.

FORMAT:

Open to amateur golfers over the age of 50.
Teams will be comprised of two players.
Men’s Teams will play on the Deer Run Course.
Women and Mixed Teams will compete in their own divisions on the Cardinal Course. A mixed and women’s team may choose to compete on the Deer Run Course.
Two-person Captain’s Choice –Scramble- No handicapping used.
Pick the best shot; then each player must place their ball within one (1) club length of where the original ball lies, not nearer the hole or on the putting green, but in the SAME TYPE OF LIE. (i.e. if the ball is in the rough, then all shots must be played from the rough. If selected ball is in the bunker, player may rake the bunker between shots).
Player will play preferred lies through the green (this includes the rough).
Player may hole out even if the other player still has the opportunity to putt for a lower score.
If a minimum number of teams is not reached in each category, teams will be combined with another category. This may include combining age categories 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over, combining mixed teams with women, or combining mixed and/or women/ with men’s age groups.

FLIGHTS:

The number of flights will be based on the number of teams in each age category.
One – two flights per category, based upon the number of entries, and on the lowest age of the team members (ex. a team comprised of both a 59-year-old and a 70-year-old will play in the 50-59 age group).
All players in the same flight are required to play from the same tees. Players opting to play in a younger flight must use the same tee as other players in the flight.

TEES TO BE PLAYED:

Men (50 – 69): White Tees (White Tees are considered senior tees on this course).
Men (70-79) and Women (50-79): Green Tees.

PRIZES*: Prize disbursement is subject to the number of teams in each category. The following will be awarded for play if the minimum is reached:

First Flight: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awards in each age group.
Second Flight: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awards in each age group.
Flights not reaching a minimum number of teams will be combined with other flights or the number of awards will be reduced for the flight.

SPECIAL COMPETITION EVENTS: Awards for play on the Deer Run and Cardinal Courses.
