QUALIFIER DATE: Thursday, August 22, 2024
GROOVE CONDITION OF COMPETITION: The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.
TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes before your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.
DIRECTIONS: Take US-23 to exit 80 (Torrey). Turn right on Torrey Road. Turn right on North Road. Turn left on E Rolston Road. Turn right on Ripley Road to the club.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (810) 735-7836. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as USGA Qualifying contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility. Be aware Spring Meadows CC is hosting other competitions in the weeks before this qualifier.
FOOD: Food will be available for purchase at the clubhouse.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: The following Rule applies to players and caddies. In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.
DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code. Those inappropriately attired may be asked to change clothes before being allowed access to the course. The GAM will adhere to any more specific dress code required by a host facility.
CADDIES/CARTS: All players have the option to ride or walk. Contestants may carry their bag or bring their own caddie. Cart fees are at the club’s discretion. Pull carts may be used if the club allows them. A player and her caddie are not allowed in the same golf cart at the same time, nor may they ride in separate carts at the same time. PENALTY: See penalty clause for breach of the condition on transportation prescribed in The Rules of Golf. Spectator carts are not permitted by the USGA
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, before play only.
PLAYOFF: In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions. It is the responsibility of the player to be present and ready to play if called for a playoff.
WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, please contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 leading up to the tournament. If you must withdraw the night or weekend before then please contact the GAM office at tournaments@gam.org or (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave a message on voice mail #124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future USGA and GAM competitions.
