Registration Information

 

This is an invitation by exemption only event. If you register without being invited you will be placed on a pending registration list until you gain exemption or if there are open spots 2 weeks out of the tournament start date, you MAY receive exemption. Anyone wishing to gain exemption outside of the invitation list will be required to send a golf resume with 36-hole stroke play tournament scores within the last 12 months to Junior Golf Director Talton Cherry at lcherry@pgahq.com for consideration.

 

To participate in the National Junior PGA  players must be eighteen (18) years of age or younger on the final day of the National Championship (August 2, 2024)

• Please be aware of this age restriction during your Junior PGA Qualifiers. A player who will become 19 years of age before the end of his or her respective National Championship will not be allowed to compete.

 

Residency Requirement - You must be a DC, MD, or VA resident of 6 months or more to play in the MAPGA Junior Championship. Any questions or exception requests, please email Junior Golf Director Talton Cherry at lcherry@pgahq.com.

 

*Caddies* - Caddies are allowed but they must be 18 years or younger to be eligible.

Member - $175

 

Non-Member - $225

 

Tee Times: Round 1 - 7:30 AM - 1:48 PM, Round 2 (girls first) 7:30 AM - 1:48 PM

 

Tournament Information

 

Format: Individual Stroke Play, 36 holes

 

Divisions: Overall Boys & Overall Girls

 

Tees: 

Boys - MAPGA Navy Tees - 6753 Yards (Approx. Belmont's Blue Tees)

Girls - MAPGA White Tees - 5830 Yards (Approx. Belmont's Green Tees / White Tees)

 

Rankings: 

• JGS Rankings: Any division in which 5 or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event are JGS ranked. 
• AJGA Rankings: 
  • Boys: Champion - 4 Performance Stars, Top 20% - 1 Performance Star (less than 40 in field), Top 20% - 2 Performance Stars, Top 50% - 1 Performance Star (40 or more in field)
  • Girls: Champion - 4 Performance Stars, Top 20% - 1 Performance Star (less than 30 in field), Top 20% - 2 Performance Stars, Top 50% - 1 Performance Star (30 or more in field)

 

 

Driving Range: The range will be available for all players before play

 

Practice Rounds: 

Tuesday, June 25^th – 3 pm-4 pm

Sunday, June 30^th – 3 pm-5:30 pm

 

We will charge a $35 RECIP fee for the juniors to walk.  If they want a parent to take a cart it’s an additional $27.

 

To make a tee time, reach out to the golf shop at 703-723-5334.  They will be paired up with other juniors in the event.

 

Spectators: Spectators will be permitted to walk the golf course. Spectator Carts are available but the course is limited to two (2) carts per group. Please be prepared to share a cart if needed with another parent. This will change from course to course so please pay attention to the day-before-tournament information emails to get the most up-to-date course policies.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In order to receive a full refund, players must withdraw before 12 noon, 7 days prior to the event and prior to tee times being posted. Withdrawing after this time will result in a loss of entry fee unless due to illness, injury or family emergency.
