It is recommended that Golf Clubs should select their team, subject to availability from the result of a Club stableford competition played off handicap, before the first round of the Green Jackets competition. |
5. |
All matches to be played off 95% of handicap. Handicap Index limit: 24.4 boys, 30.4 girls. Matches to be played as a Qualifying round for handicap. Please contact the County Office if you require assistance with WHS issues or organising a qualifying round. |
6. |
Where girls play please use the WHS Mixed Tee Calculator to calculate handicaps. The Calculator can be downloaded from Hampshire Golf website. Please ring the County Office if you have any questions. |
7. |
Boys will play from the mens competition tee- equivalent to the traditional white tee and Girls from the ladies competition tee- equivalent to the traditional red tee. |
8. |
No player may represent more than one club in each annual competition and must have nominated the Club as their Home Club for Handicap purposes.
|
9. |
**New for 2024** Clubs are asked to ensure that all their Team Members have at least 5 qualifying scores on their WHS record within the 12 months from the day of the match. A qualifying score can be General Play or Competition scores. Any team playing a player who is ineligible under this rule, will mean disqualification for the whole team. |
10. |
Play will be an aggregate stableford over 18 holes with two out of three scores to count. In the event of a tie the third score will be counted. If still tied then a back-nine countback will determine the winning Team. The countback will be decided by an aggregate of the three back 9 scores (then back 6, 3, 2 and 1). |
11. |
The club at the top of each pair shall have choice of venue in First Round matches. Thereafter until the semi-final stage, the venue shall be decided by the toss of a coin or other means (except for Channel Islands Clubs, see Rule 11). |
12. |
The third round match involving the Channel Islands Club shall be a HOME (2024) fixture for the GUERNSEY CLUB. Some financial assistance will be awarded to the team representing the Channel Islands in the Finals Day. |
13. |
It shall be the responsibility of the nominated Team Manager to report the result of the match to the County Secretary as soon as possible after the match has been played, to help give as much time as possible to arrange the next match. The result must be received before 23.59 on the last day of the play by date to avoid disqualification. Please ensure confirmation that the result has been received by the County, before assuming the result has been recorded. |
14. |
The draw is made randomly and is set until the semi-final stage (i.e. for Finals Day) when a new draw will be made. |
15. |
The Winning club shall hold the Royal Green Jackets Cup for one year. Prizes shall be awarded to the winning club, the runner-up and the losing semi-finalists. |
16. |
All matches to be played to Hampshire Golf Conditions of Competitions. See copy on website. |
17. |
Caddies are NOT allowed. |
18. |
In the event of any dispute the decision of Hampshire Golf shall be final. |
19. |
All matches must be played by the due date. If left to the last possible day for completion of the round and weather or course conditions are such that the match cannot be played, it is possible that both teams may be disqualified. If your opponents offer a choice of two or three dates, it would seem reasonable to accept one, rather than insist on your own choice. Home Clubs are asked to give their opponents a Courtesy practice round if requested. Please note that agreed tee-off times must be adhered too, failure to do so may lead to either an individual match or team disqualification. |
