*New in 2024, the California Women’s Amateur is an official USGA Exemption Event.  The Champion will earn an automatic exemption into the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:

156 players will play two rounds of stroke play.

 

Monday, July 22: Round 1 (18 holes, stroke play)

Tuesday, July 23: Round 2 (18 holes, stroke play)

 

Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 32 players for match play.

 

Wednesday, July 24: Rounds of 32 (match play)

Thursday, July 25: Round of 16 (match play)

Friday, July 26: Quarterfinals & Semifinals (match play)

Saturday, July 27: Championship Match (18-hole match play final)

 

Golf Carts will not be permitted at the championship proper. The NCGA/SCGA will use United States Golf Association guidelines in determining cart exemptions for ADA-approved disabilities. 

 

ELIGIBILITY:  The championship is open to female amateur golfers of a current NCGA or SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 7.4 or less as of the time of registration. 156 players will compete in the championship.  Exempt players will receive priority until Sunday, June 9. Then, after that date, the field will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

 

EXEMPTIONS:  All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship before the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.

 

ENTRIES OPEN: Wednesday, January 10, 2024

 

EXEMPTION ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, June 9, 2024 (To guarantee a spot)

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, July 7, 2024

 

ENTRY FEE: $250

 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted online after entries close.

 

LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be accepted, assuming there is still space available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email. 

 

REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
