IRISH SENIOR MEN’S AMATEUR CLOSE STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Please note that the Terms of Competition below must be read in conjunction with the General Regulations for Golf Ireland Competitions available online and in print in the GOLF IRELAND HANDBOOK.

 

a) Age Group: Seniors (over-50) for the overall championship with trophies awarded for 60-64, 65-69 and 70+ categories.

 

b) Gender: Male

 

c) Handicap: Maximum Handicap Index of 12.0. A player off 12.1 or higher at close of entries is not eligible.

 

d) Eligibility: See Section A of the General Regulations

 

e) Size of Field: 90 (additional places may be allocated depending on entries for the Irish Senior Women’s Am Open), with the proviso that at least 8 60-64, 6 65-69 and 4 70+ category entrants are included in the field.

 

f) Ballot: Lowest Handicap Index at close of entries

 

g) Form of Play: Stroke Play

 

h) No. of Rounds: Three – one on each day of the Championship

 

i) Cut: Top 35 plus ties after two rounds, with the proviso that at least 4 60-64, 3 65-69 and 2 70+ entrants are included.
