Welcome to the 1st Edition of the PRJT SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

As we keep developing our tour, and with the success of the PRJT running the golf seasons of the top High School and Elementary School Leagues; we are proud to announce our first Schools Championships.

Event Dates: Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, 2024

Course: Rio Bayamón Golf Club

Elegibility:

An open event for all Elementary, Middle and High Schools students within the following ages:

 Boys & Girls 5 to 18 years old

Entry Requirements and Registration Deadline:

All registration must be completed through the Puerto Rico Junior Tour Golf Genius Portal.

Late entries will not be accepted.

Entry deadline: Aprill  18, 2024 at 5:00 pm

FORMAT:

The 2024 Schools Championships will play under USGA & R&A Rules of Golf and recently revised decisions. 

 Boys 16-18 | Boys 14-15 Divisions: 
36 Hole Stroke Play Competition. 

Each participant will play walking 18 holes per day. Caddies will not be allowed in these divisions

Girls 14-18 Divisions: 

36 Hole Stroke Play Competition

Each participant will play walking 18 holes per day. Caddies will not be allowed in these divisions

Boys 11-13 | Girls 11-13 Divisions: 
36 Hole Stroke Play Competition. 

Each participant will play walking 18 holes per day. Caddies will be allowed in these divisions

Boys & Girls 8-10 & Beginner Divisions:
An 18-hole Stroke Play Competition 

Each participant will play walking 9 holes per day. Caddies are allowed in these categories. 
A maximum score of Triple Bogey per hole has been established for this division. 

Boys & Girls 5-7 Division:  
A 12 hole Stroke Play Competition

Each participant will play 6 holes per day riding. Caddies are allowed in this division.

A maximum score of Triple Bogey has been established for this division.

NOTE: Players ages 14 to 18 need to play the 18 holes divisions. Players ages 13 and under can play either the 18 or 9 hole divisions pending the approval of the Tournament Committee. 

TEES: 

Boys 14 to 18: BLUE TEES

Boys 11-13: WHITE TEES

Girls 14-18: BLUE TEES

Girls 11-13: WHITE TEES

Beginners 14 to 18: WHITE TEES

Beginners 13 & Under:RED &  PRJT TEES 

Boys & Girls 8-10: SPECIAL GOLD TEES 

Boys & Girls 5-7: SPECIAL SILVER TEES 

*Tournament committee reserves the right to modify event format 

TEAM RULES:

1. Each team will consist of a maximum of five (5) players and a minimum of two (2) in order to be eligible to compete as a team.

The team’s final score shall be determined by totaling the scores of the best two scores (2).

2. Schools can register a team of players participating in any of the 18 hole per day divisions; and/or a team of players that compete in the 9 hole divisions.  

2.Team Participation

a. Any school may participate with one (1) player; however, they will not be eligible for any
team championship.

b. All schools must compete in the required amount of established rounds to be elegible for the championship.

c. TEAM SCORING: Each team will combine the best two (2) players scores, which will make up their team
score for each round.

d. Individual Competition: Any school can register 1  player. Schools with teams may register 1 players as an individual competitor besides the ones elected for Team competition. These players scores will NOT count for the Team Overall score. 

Coaches will determine which players will count at the registration tent before the each round begins. Once these players are identified, they are locked in as the ones that count for the team score.

DISQUALIFICATIONS:

Any player who is part of a major breach of the rules of golf or intentionally impedes the pace of play during a competition will be disqualified and could possibly disqualify his/her team. Any infringement of the rules of golf will be taken care of the Tournament Committee which consist of: 

PRJTI Tournament Committee / USGA-R&A Rules Official. 

Awards:

18 holes Team Overall (1st and 2nd)

9 holes Team Overall (1st and 2nd)

Boys 14-18 Individual (Top 5) (This includes the Prep 14-18 division)

Girls 14-18 Individual (Top 5) 

Boys 11-13 Individual (Top 5) (This Includes the Prep 11-13 division)

Girls 11-13 Individual (Top 5) 

Boys 9 holes individual (Top 10) Includes Beginnners 13&Under, and 8-10 divisions.

Girls 9 holes Individual (Top 10) Includes Beginners 13&Under, and 8-10 divisions. 

REFUND POLICY
Open date to one (1) week prior to Championship date:
Full refund minus $95.00 USD administrative fee regardless of reason.

Withdraw during the week of the Championship date, late arrival, no-show:

NO REFUND FOR ANY REASON.
