IRISH MID-AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Please note that the Terms of Competition below must be read in conjunction with the General Regulations for Golf Ireland Competitions available online and in print in the GOLF IRELAND HANDBOOK.
a) Age Group: 25 years or over on the first day of the Championship (Men) / 18 years or over before 1 Jan (Women)
b) Gender: Male & Female
c) Handicap Limit: 5.0 (Men) and 12.0 (Women). Players with HI's higher than those indicated are not eligible.
d) Eligibility: See Section A of the General Regulations
e) Size of Field: 114 at least 25 of which must come from each gender with remaining places determined proportionately based on entries. In the Men's field, at least 75% of the starting field must comprise players over 30 years of age. No further age provisos apply but there will be a category prize for the leading player over 40 years of age.
f) Ballot: Lowest Handicap Index at the close of entries
g) Form of Play: Stroke Play
h) No. of Rounds: Three – one on each day of the Championship
i) Cut: There will be a cut after Round 2, with the exact number of players in each Championship advancing to the final round to be determined at close of entries.
